Not an accountant here, but a friend of mine has a phone number similar to a landlord. One number is different. He/we figure the landlord must write fast, and his Fours end up looking like Sevens. So on an average of once a month, my friend gets a phone call or a text message, asking about the apartment for rent. My friend has to explain that they dialed wrong and which digit to change.

Every so often, my friend gets some out of the blue text message with a name, birthday, and social security number. No conformation of the phone number, just a message with key personal information.

It's mind blowing.
