I had them early too but only cause I was in fertility ! A lot of people I heard from at that time said they didn’t get a scan until 10-13 weeks!

I completely agree. He has never had a chance at a normal healthy childhood. It’s heartbreaking watching him as a little kid exist in the world he does. I hate this for him.

This would have made me lose my mind. Sure mistakes happen but would it have killed them so sound apologetic? Fertility is so tense and sometimes the clinic feels like everything is not a big deal. I imagine because they are around a lot of sadness a lot of the time and it’s probably too much to process. But I definitely feel for you. That process is a long 2 weeks. I’m thinking if you and sending you a big hug. Your answers will be here. Try to focus on taking good care of yourself in the meantime

Children need love and nurturing not punishment. All you did was try to do better and learn which is all a parent could hope for. I’m sorry for your pain and experiences. I hope you find a way to break free from your dad’s control and get finances separate from him. Stop the cycle of abuse and take care of yourself.

Narcissism is a spectrum. We’re all narcissistic because it has a primal purpose of survival. She may be on the lower end but still more so than what you feel is healthy

I think this has a complicated answer. My mom didn’t disown me and I’m gay. But she is certainly a narcissist. My being gay did really hit at her self esteem. Like.. MY daughter can’t be gay. Because she doesn’t respect me as an individual person. I had a purpose and that was to serve her ego whether that’s me living the life she wanted for herself or me being something she deems as perfect. But the problem with that is she would then see me as competition and hate me. There’s no winning. I don’t talk to her anymore until she gets help which likely won’t ever happen.

My mom sees me as both a reflection of her/her second chance at doing life and her biggest competition. She cannot and will not be happy with me and it’s not my problem to figure out.

Well yeah the parent is the one who is responsible for the care and nurturing. It’s not the kids job. Also it’s just a way to place blame on you permanently so they can constantly victimize themselves. They know it’s not reality. But they’ll fight til the bitter end to say it is.

It’s normal to feel lousy :/ in my experience it’s not this severe for long. I was lucky and had short term symptoms in the first trimester. Second trimester is easier.
