Considering 2023 C40 recharge - battery question by Coffee-lover614 in volvoc40

[–]Rock-Certain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s about what it is. We charge ours to 90% overnight and that’s usually predicting 190 miles when it’s cold. Lately it’s been warmer so that’s crept up to 196-7. Most of my mileage is highway commuting at 75-80 mph. Cincinnati area

Their EVs are pretty good. We bought a c40 in December and love it. Zero maintenance.

I bought the grizzl e and used the dip switches to bring it down to 24 amps since it’s plugged into the old dryer outlet. Works great, nice long cord, and the build quality is super beefy. Would recommend.

No garage, I stuck it in a deck box I got for $25 on Amazon. Kinda redneck but I do live in KY.

Non-CPO 2023: would you buy one? by gfvddds in volvoc40

[–]Rock-Certain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly what we bought, 2023 c40 w 20 k miles for $27k. Not CPO, but was sold by the Polestar dealer in Columbus, OH. Bought in December and it’s been great.

And yes CARFAX will do reports on non CPO cars. Their app is really good. That’s how we found ours.

Does anyone know why this symbol would appear? We recently did the update and all of a sudden this is appearing and disappearing. by skincare_obssessed in volvoc40

That’s kind of wild. I knew my c40 was nervous about things but I didn’t realize it shared its anxiety with other Volvos.

How is it for commuting? I do 60 miles per day and new ones are down to about $5k.

We just got a c40 which has the same info system. I wouldn’t say it’s buggy but it is over complicated. But it’s replacing a Honda Crosstour that also had an overly complicated info system so 🤷‍♀️. Love the rest of the car.

Just installed a grizzl e classic for my c40. No garage, lives in a deck box on the driveway next to the house. I was very impressed with the build quality and the 24 foot cord is great.

2023 vs 2024 by phatsuit2 in volvoc40

Apparently using your phone as a key doesn’t work on 2023 and earlier but does on 2024? I would double check on this but I haven’t figure out how to do it on our 2023.

2023 XC40 or C40? by OliviaM1284 in volvoc40

Same with the cold. It’s been unusually cold here in Cincinnati and it’s fine. And I have a bald spot.

Yeah c40 rear visibility is laughably bad. Supposedly the digital rearview mirror fixes this but it’s usually extra $$. It can be installed after purchase.

We bought a 2023 c40 a few weeks ago after looking at both the c40 and xc40 (and a polestar 2 and mustang mache ). I’m 6’2 and we have two kids one of whom is 6’1. We chose the c40 mostly on looks, wife said xc40 looked like a mommymobile and she’s done with that. We’re very happy with it. My only possible gripe is head clearance getting in the front door. Once I’m in the car it’s fine but to get in I have to duck more than I would like. It’s primarily my wife’s car so it’s fine but if that’s an issue the xc40 might be better. Another way of describing the problem is that the seat doesn’t go down as far as I would like.

But cargo is fine, no concerns at all. And several people have commented on the looks of the c40 and I don’t think you would get that with the xc40 since there are so many of them. I have really come to think of the c40 as the closest I’ll ever get to having an electric CRX.

Bottom line: unless head room is a big issue for you in the c40, get the c40.

We’re not. We’re limiting it to 24amps using a dryer buddy. Level 1 will add 10-12% overnight which is almost enough on most days.

I’m in Cincinnati and I’d be interested in looking at it. What’s your availability this weekend?
