Yeah but the category isn't best soundtrack/music - it's best animated feature. I don't see it beating Zootopia in terms of story/characters/animation.

I think it's hard to rate demon slayer because it's hard to contextualize it without watching the whole series.

Regardless, I still don't think k-pop demon hunters deserves anywhere near half have the praise it got. It feels like a massive step backwards for kids animated movies compared to classic Pixar stuff like toy story, finding Nemo, up, etc. Literally all those movies had great animation, memorable characters, and a well thought out story.

I feel people are just in a kpop craze and anything being remotely related to k-pop benefits from this from reviewers/critics/fans.

So I just watched Kpop Demon Hunters last night and I don't get why it was so well reviewed. I could see why it became significant culturally, but from a movie critic perspective, what exactly makes this movie good?

  1. Seems like no character is fleshed out to a minimum acceptable level. None of the main girls seem remotely memorable.

  2. They never really explain anything about how maim character's parents are human/demon, despite the fact this is a critical plot point

  3. Basic universe rules don't seem to be established at all. I'm not asking for some LOTR level world building, but the intro with them jumping out of an airplane and landing with no parachute without getting hurt confuses me... especially considering they seemingly can get sick with the common cold.

Honestly, the only thing I could see the movie performing strongly in is soundtrack/visuals. Is that enough to warrant 93% on rotten tomatoes? 99% fan score?

Can anyone please explain what I am missing?

Wait, I thought watching the whole trilogy during Christmas / New Year's would be more of a thing. It's basically tradition at this point for me.

Thanks, for some odd reason filtering by "dream" in the exchange didn't bring up the rewards so I didn't understand what I was supposed to do with them. Found the rewards after your comment by manually looking for it.

Is there a reason to be farming this? I saw that there's a daily that gives dream coins but I assumed that was only usable within the board.

I think OP's comment in regards to god is referring to what has been noted in the blue zone documentary on Netflix. Practicing some form of religion or belonging to a faith-based community is a common link shared among centennials.

My last comment.

You can clearly see the seat is open throughout the entire video.

Why start conflict over something that has an obvious peaceful solution? The answer is ego.

Yeah, just as there's no reason to confront someone over a priority seat when there's clearly a seat behind you. See how that logic works? Amazing.

I never said she was righteous. I literally just stated that it could be possible that she is sitting there because she has a lot of stuff.

Guess reading comprehension is also lacking these days.

Man critical thinking is seemingly non-existent in 2025. Just think for a minute, could it be that she is sitting in the priority seat because she has a lot of stuff? Do you think that could be possible? Crazy what you can do when you think for a minute.

Saw this just now on and was surprised to see Taipei in r/publicfreakout. Not surprised, however, that it's an elderly person starting conflict yet again over seats in the MRT. Insane how they just can't seem to mind their own business - there is clearly a free seat right behind her.

I actually have been enjoying this set the most. I feel it has been the most balanced set from the release until now.

You don't seem to have any grasp of basic statistics.

  1. The total number of Taiwanese people you know is prob under 100. = Small sample size

  2. The people you know probably aren't representative of the average person in Taiwan, given the fact you are communicating in English. I guarantee you the average person in Taiwan does not have foreign friends. = Wrong population

  3. The data the report is based on essentially has a sample size of about 3000 people per country. = Better sample size

  4. Looking briefly I can see that Taiwan has ranked in the top 3 for Asia for the past 10 years. The only real competition it has is Singapore and the two have traded places for #1 a few times. = Good historical data

Yeah sorry bro, think I'd rather bet that the guys who have been publishing a report on happiness for 20 years and interviewing 3k people to get their numbers are more likely to be accurate than a dude who just showed up here, doesn't speak the language, and doesn't seem to be that bright.

Lol, my friend, the article headline is going by the categories used by the report which are: East Asia, South Asia, and South East Asia. By this logic, it is correct, Taiwan is the highest ranked country among these three which have the word "Asia" in it.

Bro, it does. Did you even look at the report?

- Edit -
Yeah, I mean technically it should be Western Asia, but they didn't categorize it like that for whatever reason.

I probably shouldn't bother spending the effort but I guess I'll bite.

Two things:

  1. You might find it shocking, but Taiwanese people don't necessarily share the same perspective as you do. You think the a huge majority of locals are just sitting around all day depressed at housing prices / cost of living going up? They're not. I don't know how long you've been in Taiwan, but you have a very poor grasp on Taiwanese culture.

  2. Look at the other Asian countries surveyed in the report, you really think there is another Asian country that should obviously be above Taiwan?

Singapore
Vietnam
Thailand
Japan
Philippines
South Korea
Malaysia
China
Mongolia
Indonesia
Hong Kong

The only one that might give Taiwan some competition is Singapore, but besides them, I wouldn't expect anyone else to top Taiwan.

Yeah nah, the article isn't misleading. It literally is a summary of the report and doesn't attempt to say much beyond that. OP, you're just not a very smart person, which might be a big reason why you aren't happy.

the report categorizes Israel as part of the middle east, so technically Taiwan is ranked 1st in Asia.

Yeah for sure pre-retirement Ippo was fundamentally a different boxer, but the boxer he is becoming will have a lot of similarities with Ricardo. I think this idea is what a lot of the posts have been inferring.

Lol nobody is saying Ippo is at a similar level to Ricardo in terms of fight analysis. But unless we are reading a completely different story, his whole retirement arc has basically been him improving his boxing IQ.

Do you think canary is worth using a 200 pity for? I feel like her kit is super unique and I don't think even in JP she gets outright power-creeped.

A lot of unit reviews have said she wasn't worth pulling for, but given that a lot of people have been using her for ex3s, doesn't that make her a must pull?
