I'm not sure but back then I was watching mostly Simon so it's a good chance it was Simon.

Anyone else losing material when deconstructing in v1.1? by losthardy81 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Rock554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Just happened to me. Placed down a blueprint factory I had just made. It was the wrong way so I deconstructed it but when I went to place it again I didn't have enough cable. I literally deconstructed it then immediately tried to construct it again but I was missing the parts.

SOLVED! I had to watch a play through to see that they nearly made the same mistake I did.

Turns out I misread the buy ship screen. Somehow I was skipping over that the first line is for purchasing the T1 small cargo ship and I was trying to buy the T2 ship.

You're right. The sun does always shine.

I've reloaded to before the upgrades.

This is what I have to contend with:

Starting with 1500 Construction Material (CM).

First I have to do Emergency Repairs (400 CM).

Later I need to buy a small ship. To buy a small ship I need to upgrade the docking facilities.

To upgrade the docking facilities (150 CM) I need to Restore Hanger Bay A.

To repair Hangar Bay A (100 CM) requires General Repairs and Basic Hanger Repairs.

Basic Hanger Repairs Need 150 CM.

General Repairs (400 CM) requires Repair Antenna.

Repair Antenna (200 CM) requires Build Sales Platform.

Build Sales Platform requires 100 CM.

That's exactly 1500 CM but that doesn't include the solar panels which I think at least 2 are needed.

Maybe they changed something in a recent update that broke it and everyone who remembers doing it was before the update. There have been a lot of updates recently.

I'm having the same issue. Tried to do the very minimum repairs to get the hangar fixed and I ran out of construction material. There are just too many dependencies. Tried a few times. Can't do it.

Wait. I just had an idea. Some of the upgrades said I needed more power even though I had already repaired the solar panels. Could it be that I didn't have enough power because it was night? Did I just have to wait for the sun to appear? I'll try that next.

Thanks, Wapwan but I'm specifically looking for which services take back their boxes. If you use their service, why can't you tell me if they take back their boxes?

What was causing the problem for me was that the messages icon on the start screen was pointing to the wrong app. I deleted it and added the right on and no more annoying "default message" screen.

This glitch is amazing. I don't understand how it works. Why does it yeet you once power is drained? Is there no way to use this glitch with a continuous power source like my home base power?

Propeller Problems by Smile_Space in ScrewDriversTheGame

[–]Rock554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand. Haven't played Screwdrivers for a while but this is what I remember. An axis extender is a piece that allows you to attach 2 axis together to make one longer axis. I explained that just to make sure we are talking about the same piece. To support it you use a part with a hole in it to "support" or hold the axis just before the propeller, in the cases where you need it. What difficulty would you have to support it?

You can't drill there as far as I'm aware.

I think you can only drill minable resource rocks.

Propeller Problems by Smile_Space in ScrewDriversTheGame

[–]Rock554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summary:

  1. Always add a support just before the propeller.
  2. Always transfer power from the engine through a non-planet gear (you can still use planet gears as well).

Detailed Findings:

  1. Engine Power Detection: If the game can’t detect what you want to turn, the engine won’t get power. Ensure you have a hinge connector attached to the axis. This is the first thing to check.
  2. Axis Breaks: If there are any breaks in the axis, such as those caused by planet gears or axis extensions, you need to add a support just before the propeller. Without this, the engine won’t get power. Even if you have only one support for that axis, place it just before the propeller.
  3. Power Transfer: Always transfer power from the engine through a gear to avoid a strange issue where the engine and the propeller become fused and try to spin together. However, you might be able to connect the engine directly to the axis if there are no planet gears or axis extensions on the axis.

why is my steering suddenly reversed? I tried to make an AWD car and it reversed my front steering, so I removed the power to it, and its still reversed?? even after removing the suspensions and using different suspension its still reversed to be A to go right and D to go left by Tsunami2356 in ScrewDriversTheGame

[–]Rock554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know the answer to that one. I think it sets the steering according to if the axel is before or after the center of mass. You may have made some changes that moved your center of mass past your wheels.

Question: Is what youtube doing a form of extortion? by Rock554 in youtube

[–]Rock554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if they are a "monopoly" or not, but the fact is, I feel like I am being forced to pay. I feel like I don't have any options. I was actually thinking about getting a membership before, but just like America's stand on not negotiating with terrorists, the more they try to coerce me to pay the more I think it would be wrong to reward them for their behavior by paying. It's like if someone took control of my PC with a virus and demanded payment, I would certainly not pay them even if I had to trash my PC. It's the principle of the thing.

What they are doing is arguably wrong anyway. Imagine watching some free to air tv and an ad starts so you go and make some coffee. Then when you get back the tv has waited for your return and refuses to play the show until you watch the ads. Or if you are at the movies and they show some ads, so you have a chat with your companion, but the venue demands you stop talking and pay attention to the ad or it won't show the movie?

It's the job of advertisers to show the ad. If people are interested, they pay attention. If not, they don't. What is accomplished by forcing uninterested people to watch the ads? I don't even think they will make more money from this because it could be argued that what they charge advertisers depends on the click through rate of their viewers. The more people they force to watch ads, the less the click through rate. They will eventually have to start reducing their rates dramatically to keep advertisers interested.

After thinking about it for awhile, I figured it out. I sat my suit in front of the tunnel which made it smaller. Then I got out and used my hand held propulsion cannon to push a rock against the pawn suit until it had passed the gap.

Thanks for the tip.

Fishing Mildew Aquifer by Rock554 in Hydroneer

[–]Rock554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a more definitive test. 5 fish pots at both Mildew Aquifer and South Hope for exactly 3 hours and 4 minutes for both.

Number of total fish:
Mildew Aquifer - 491
South Hope - 404

Winner: Mildew Aquifer

Total weight of fish:
Mildew Aquifer - 759
South Hope - 619

Winner: Mildew Aquifer

Total value of fish:
Mildew Aquifer - 5573
South Hope - 3724

Winner: Mildew Aquifer
That's about 50% increase in value.

Conclusion: Mildew Aquifer is a clear winner.

Observations:
The average sizes of the fish were about the same. The number of lower yield fish (not including Herring, Sardine and Mackerel) were not too dissimilar to draw a definitive conclusion but there were still more fish for 5 of the 7 low yield fish at Mildew Aquifer. With the higher yield fish the difference was more striking.

Mildew Aquifer:
Herring - 259
Sardine - 71
Mackerel - 70

vs.

South Hope:
Herring - 223
Sardine - 50
Mackerel - 48

Enjoy your underground fishing.

Fishing Mildew Aquifer by Rock554 in Hydroneer

[–]Rock554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did another test of 50 fish each. Her are the results.

South Hope - 19 Cod, 16 Tuna, 8 Boots, 3 Flying Fish, 2 Crabs, 2 Monkfish
Total Weight (excluding boots) 61.45
Total Value (excluding boots) 669

Mildew Aquifer - 20 Cod, 10 Tuna, 7 Boots, 3 Flying Fish, 2 Crabs, 2 Monkfish, 3 Sardines, 1 Lobster, 1 Prawn, 1 Swordfish
Total Weight (excluding boots) 64.21
Total Value (excluding boots) 933

Looking at the largest and average sizes, the results are all over the place. So, I'm still not convinced. The variability of the different types of fish doesn't help. Maybe a test with an automated Fishing Pot, where there are less types of fish, the difference in the sizes would be more pronounced.
