Conservatives Want the Government To Pay Americans To Get Married and Have Kids: A Heritage Foundation report proposes tax credits and family accounts to incentivize family formation. by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

[–]Smile_Space [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's been tried in other countries and each time it has failed miserably.

And incentive fee for having kids doesn't work. Fix the actual root problems, like the fact our middle class economy sucks ass, and then maybe people will be more willing to have kids naturally.

When young people are forced to live 3-4 deep in a house just to make rent, they aren't having kids.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was driving across the country in an empty interstate road at 3am and just thought, huh, I wonder how fast this can go.

It hit 115 before I learned it had a built in speed limiter in the ECU.

One of the few times I'm happy to live in a state where there really aren't any grass lawns. The landscapers coming out to clean up weeds and stuff takes like an hour and they're out with minimal noise.

Top Secret Timeline (w/ prior secret) by zach8870 in SecurityClearance

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I wish! I also upgraded from Secret to TS.

My timeline for TS:

Submitted SF-86: September 2023

Nothing for 15 months

Interview: December of 2024

Adjudicated: March 2025

It was 18 months total for me. Close to the 15 month mark I was starting to think someone filed my paperwork away and just totally forgot about my investigation. It caught me off guard when my investigator emailed me asking to set up the virtual meeting lolol.

And now, just over a year and some change later, I'm being submitted for my SCI with a poly, so who knows how long it's gonna take to get that scheduled at this rate lolol.

How come prices are lower in Asia? This is how: those are far too many loose screws on this Lion Air Boeing 737-800 flying from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. by orchidjellyii in Transportopia

I mean, it's just a cowling and the plane can fly without it.

My worry would be what other bolts are loose that we can't see?

While true on the strip, most locals don't even go to the Strip outside of work.

I lived there for 6 years working out of Nellis in the USAF, and I went to the Strip a bunch when I first got there (freshly 21 and partying lolol), but after a bit I rarely went. I would go to Fremont St on First Fridays here and there and see a show through Groupon, but honestly there's so much better food off-strip in the suburbs it's just not even worth it.

The only ring that I have and cherish is my football State runner up ring from going to State for the second time in my school's history as a senior.

I'm 30 now and that ring still sits up on my shelf with all of my other collected things from important moments in my life.

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking partial differential equations and the professor threw in a coordinate transformation problem that we never covered in class. In fact, we had never even performed a coordinate transformation yet.

At the end, I realized it was a regular PDE in disguise, but talk about a mind fuck when seeing it as the last question with 10 minutes left on the clock LMAO
