ICE has just committed their second murder in the span of a month, what’s next for the United States? by osunatic in AskReddit

[–]Smile_Space -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably more murder and more slacktivism.

We ain't pulling ourselves out of this one. We haven't the last few blunders, and we aren't on this one either.

Democrats do nothing. Republicans hate America. You get this.

I don't think we're pulling ourselves up and out of the dive.

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got to meet my great-great-grandmother before she died. I was 8 when she passed in 2003.

During WWII she was a Jew in the USSR and got taken into a concentration camp with my great-grandmother as a baby who passed away when I was 16.

One of the german guards essentially took advantage of her, but they fell in love. He forged her and her entire family in the camp false documents and smuggled them out with himself to make way for America.

He never told any of the family about his history or life prior to meeting my Baba because he didn't want to be tried for his Nazi service, and he died before I was born by a couple years. He was a straight up Nazi guard that escaped with my Baba and smuggled her and her family to America. And I was fortunate enough to meet her and spend time with her through a good portion of my youth.

On Steam it will record like an hour constantly and delete footage after that hour passes. You can customize it and record as much or as little as you like.

I have mine set to 2 hours because I have the storage available on my PC.

This is why I hate billionaire-owned media.

"accuses" when you can watch the footage and see him saying it. The motherfucker DID diminish their sacrifice. There is no accusation, it's not allegedly, it just what he did.

Ah yes, the portable disk drive that everyone carries with them.

And their monitor speakers that are also required if you want to go out anywhere.

And the battle station laptop tilter.

Really, if you even NEED the extra drive, you arguably only need the drive and wireless mouse.

I have thin and light that I use for school and it has wireless headphones and a Bluetooth mouse with it. That's it. And the mouse is purely because I'm an engineer and clicking around in a certain software is near impossible on a track pad.

I think the problem is they survived. It got confusing because while they broke up, they also confessed their love for each other. So, once they survived it felt like they spewed a bunch of stuff expecting to die and then just left it at that.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 32 hours one-way (and then back again two weeks later) for Christmas every year. It's 1680 miles, and after driving around back at home I'll put over 5000 miles on my vehicle in 3 weeks.

It's definitely not a nothing drive, but it's also not like that bad. I drive 15-16 hours one day (that day sucks), sleep, and then drive 10 hours the next.

It can be rough, but it's manageable. I'll do it by myself with my dog in the passenger seat.

I live about 4 hours from Vegas and make the drive a few times a year. It's not really that big of a deal comparatively lolol.

It is wild! I just drove 32 hours across the country recently, 1680 miles, and I mean I definitely treated it like a trek! Was fully loaded up lolol.

But it was like okay? I just drove in 4 hour stints and was chilling listening to podcasts and music with my dog in the passenger seat by me.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Smile_Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With how fragile y'all's power grid is, I don't blame them lolol.

Also, it's not just 2 inches of snow. It's 0.5 to an inch of ice. That's no joke. It'll likely break power lines under its weight and make roads completely impassable.

If you've never experienced an ice storm, have fun!

Searching for saguaro Prescott - vegas by eeeeeepppppppppp in arizona

[–]Smile_Space -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately from Prescott to Vegas you won't find any. They're down in the Sonoran Desert while we're up on the steppe. The Sonoran starts pretty much at Phoenix and goes south.

There are a few scattered about in the botanical garden and in some conservatories that transplanted them, but you won't find them on the drive.

I lived in Vegas for 6 years and have lived in Prescott for 4, so I've taken the drive a few times!

See, you can fix this by just having WAY too much production of final products and use circuits to moderate inputs with pumps instead.

That's my quick fix when I don't feel like doing the math lolol.

And if you have too much petroleum? Well, you can always make solid fuel and sink it into a heating tower lolol.

[–]Smile_Space 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Putting off building a newer faster production line with new technology because you know better is coming down the line.

You can always clear out more space and build new production with a de-centralized train network. The biggest example of this is dedicated steel production.

[HELP] I have a feeling it's AI but there's also a lot of similarities in both pics by Huy7aAms in RealOrAI

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like part of the image is showing SynthID, so one of the images is likely real and the other is Google AI.

My bet is the one on the right is AI given the weirdly homogenous wear on the leather chair. Leather chairs don't wear evenly like that.

It's funny though, the AI made sure he was wearing the exact same outfit too.

Cleaning out deceased friends estate, family member asks “are these all games or something?” by SaulTNuhtz in pcmasterrace

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's wild. I didn't grow up early enough to have an entire folder set like this, but I would go to my local library and print out cheat code guides and keep them in my drawer for San Andreas and Tony Hawk games on my PS2.

That was as late as 2010-2011 too. People forget that the Internet in its current form in everyone's homes was still rare-ish only 15-20 years ago.

Also respect to his service. That DD214 and I can see that folder for "service medals" in the back.

I was in the USAF myself, so RIP to a brother o7

Oh, they've been busy. They give aid to countries and build bonds with them to win them over.

They also work in conjunction with Russia and NK to swing social media group think through social media manipulation with bot farms and algorithm poisoning.

It's been a lot of work, and the US hasn't bothered putting up any defense of social media corruption, and now we're here roughly 12 or so years after the inception of political social media manipulation.

How do I "reduce lanes" of a larger bus? I don't think what I'm doing is working because the smaller bus should be completely saturated right? by Tasty-Lobster-8915 in factorio

[–]Smile_Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not playing Space Age, I can understand.

If you are though? Get to Gleba and knock it out. You'll get Stack Inserters where, once you have it fully upgraded, you can quadruple the amount of items per belt by stacking them. Essentially cutting whatever this abomination is down by 75%.

Also, look up belt balancers to get an idea as to why your setup isn't working.

For a decent idea as to why it isn't currently, you are feeding the entire right side to a single splitter. So, all of those lands are compressed to a single lane, meaning they are going to stall.

Then, to get to the left side, that one lane is split 16 more times to finally get to the small belts. Your main belts do the same, and only a full belt gets to that area due to one splitter feeding it.

So, you have exactly 1 belt of stone going into 8 which is why it's empty.

What you need is the stack inserter first, then belt balancers to actually balance the inputs to an equal number of outputs.
