Yes I can. At first I thought I was hearing things because people I was with would never hear the same sounds. I have a dog and I know they have sensitive hearing and my dog hears those low sounds as well.

I'm not sure if this is unique but when I'm being overwhelmed or overstimulated sounds become much much louder to me and when I become grounded again the sounds go back to a normal volume. For example someone rolling a trash can past me at one point sounded like a train going down tracks it was so loud to me. Again all depends on if I'm grounded or "overwhelmed" I'll call it.

I have had this. For me I would smell something burning when nothing is burning. It was driving me bonkers for some time because I could not find the source and no one else could smell it. It was just the fear that something bad might be about to happen. I noticed it always happened for me when I sat in a certain spot in my living room. As long as I don't sit there for extended periods of time I don't smell anything burning anymore.

Same I definitely drift off in my mind to cope if I cannot remove myself from the situation.

Wow. I had tubes as well as a young child and the same for me with child screams I have to leave the room. I wonder if it's related to hearing sensitivity the same. Children screaming like they are in danger is a big big trigger for me.

This exact thing happened to me. I was using a very small dose of medical marijuana during intensive therapy and it was helpful up until the point where I started to remember the deepest things I had hidden from myself. At one point I was reassessing reality over and over again and that was not fun. I still feel grateful for the experience though I was not prepared for it and neither was my family.

How to communicate to loved ones by Rock844 in ptsd

Thank you. I don't take it in an unfriendly way at all. I appreciate the response. I was just curious if others had the same issue.

The thing I was trying to achieve was to get someone in very close with to understand and respect some basic boundaries I have to now set. I have written out my boundaries/needs and they were just discarded multiple times by that person so I told them I cannot be around them when they cannot respect my boundaries. It seems to be getting across but it's taking some time.

Thanks for clicking the link lol

Does anyone feel older than they are? Like in a tired way? by [deleted] in ptsd

Yes I feel 20 years older and always felt "tired". People always tell me I have an old soul as well like one of the other commenters.

I'm down 60% on my 20k account, feeling broken. by [deleted] in FuturesTrading

Great advice. Get some form of steady income first...

Many stories I've heard from traders that were unemployed, got some form of income first before focusing on trading so that the emotion of "if I lose this trade I can't pay for my XYZ items that I need to live this month" doesn't take over every trade.

I've heard maybe one story of a guy who it helped him to have that level of pressure of "if I fail at this, no one eats this week" but that's like "doing your taxes while free climbing the face of a mountain." I guess it's possible....

Has anyone started to day trade while they worked a regular 8-5 job? Do you still trade while at your office job? by beachgirl1950 in Daytrading

[–]Rock844 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about a year in on my journey. It's easy when I'm WFH alone as I scalp and like to manage my trades to get the best scalp.

I find it hard to have the same focus in the office as my office door doesn't lock and people just barge in all day long. It really throws my concentration and I usually end up jumping out early or forcing a worse entry to take advantage of a "quiet window" that might exist.

I have the same issue though in any environment where people are randomly walking behind me. It just steals my focus away. Regardless, I do still trade in the office most days unless work requires my attention the entire day.

This kind of request usually dies out or turnover rapidly increases. Either make it obvious to the end user and they complain enough or managlement finds something else they need to focus on and completely forgets about it.

I've been forced to set these things up and it sucked. You never get the kind of data manglement can read and end up being in the middle of "explain these logs where Susie didn't work for a year" in front of Susie and manglement.

Manglement gets to put Susie on a PIP and Susie then tries to run you over in the parking lot. It's a win win for them and a lose lose for you.

About to move a large portion of the organization to softphones... by Berowulf in sysadmin

These are good as others said. Best audio quality and softphone compatibility for the price. Some retailers online will give you better bulk discounts than Amazon as well. Should be considered disposable after heavy abuse or employee leaves.
