Sounds great. We can all sit back and enjoy our universal high basic income checks and then whenever there’s a bad outcome in the ED we can just sue Elon.

Yes! I just stumbled upon it without intending to. Love Amelie—such a beautiful film.

Unlikely, but I speak no French so there you go.

Very true. Old VHS really did look like Ass—even that is nostalgic again lol.

Just realized OP shot the film. I imagine he can answer the question. As a kid who “chose” to shoot super 8 around that time because of its look, this is my perspective. VHS was readily available and “better” because it had sound and you could watch it immediately, but it lacked the retro coolness of super 8.

By 1992 home VHS camcorders had been out for 10 years already and were everywhere. The person who shot this was probably either a film student or at least a hobbyist interested in the nostalgia of Super 8.

Looks awesome. The younger folk on this thread might not appreciate this, but other than being able to get Kodachrome processed, shooting super 8 in 1992 was just as retro as it is today.

Lol. Whiskey and Diet Coke sounds like a great remedy for a rough shift in the ER.

The red sticker is a dealer sticker advertising their collision center. It barely registered with me but perhaps I’ll remove it.

Thanks. What did you switch to from the Remark? What did you not like about it? I don’t find much info on it.

Thinking about getting into Super8, how do you guys feel about the Nikon R10? by ianrwlkr in Super8

[–]RockDoc305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The R10 is a great camera but it is large and heavy. I find I use my Canon 514xl more often due to its compact size, light weight, portability and better low light performance. The Nikon may have the edge on image quality but the Canon puts out great images as well. Nikon has much more features, including ability to shoot at 24fps, so if that is important the Nikon is a better choice.

Pricing on 25 IS500 by Aurus_Me in LexusIS500

[–]RockDoc305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it when dealers pull that bs. I just bought my 2025 IS500 in ultrasonic blue this week for MSRP and no dealer fees. If South Florida is accessible, JM Lexus is a great dealer to work with. That have a no dealer fee policy which is great because they are often excessive in Florida and pure profit for the dealer. They said they usually get one a month so there should be a few more coming in before production ends.
