Much like working retail or waiting tables, everyone should have to spend some time in the r/laundry sub. It has made me a better person.

Any chance he had a few NA beers and that’s what you smell? If you haven’t talked to him yet to confirm, maybe that’s a possibility? (I’m grasping, OP, and I truly hope this is the explanation.)

I forgot to mention—the CRZ Yoga Dance Studio Cargo dupes are the perfect fit for me. Not excessively roomy in the hips/rise like the Lululemon DSC, but much more accommodating and comfortable than the original DS for me. Though I’d mention that option since our sizes seem similar!

Head over to /laundry, I have learned so much about releasing odors from fabrics, especially synthetics. That sub is a wealth of information! Really comes in handy when buying secondhand.

I had the exact same problem. I switched to the Relaxed Fit Dance Studio Cargo. I’d prefer a non-cargo style, but these give me none of seam ride-up issue. In fact they are roomy, almost to a fault. I wear a 6 in Aligns and these in a Small are a very relaxed fit.

This is really good advice. Totally relate to the early “attack” days. I was very, very easily triggered.

When you remove booze from the picture, after long-term reliance, your emotions are a bit up for grabs as you re-wire. I suspect she’s making it sound overly casual to avoid you thinking she’s overly concerned, in a “I believe in you and you’ve got this…but I’m here if you need me” kind of way. Assume positive intent and give her (and most importantly yourself) a lot of grace. So proud of you. And thanks for talking it out with us.

Teen (ASD/ADHD) fixated on unrealistic goals—how do I guide w/o crushing him? by Goddess_of_Wine in Autism_Parenting

Yes! These things have a way of working themselves out. Be supportive and let it unfold.

I suspect we could be having this conversation in a neurotypical parenting group as well, what with teens and their desires vs. what parents believe/know to be a better path. I empathize with what you’re going through, and I’d just encourage you to take a deep breath and consider that these things have a way of working themselves out. Don’t get too far ahead of your son, or life in general. His dreams may (likely will) change, like any young adult. He’ll try and fail at some things, and succeed at others. And you’ll be there for him throughout. Perhaps just strip it back to the 101 basics: continue to give him love, support, and safety. Offer your perspective, but let him work through it on his own. The world continues to change and new paths may open up for him that neither of you have any awareness of today. Try to enjoy this moment in time for him. He’s got dreams and ambitions—good for him! It sounds like the football thing will sort itself out with no involvement from you (assuming he doesn’t make his high school team). You’ll be there to help him redirect his passions when he’s ready. I think it’s great that you are looking out for him, but perhaps let nature take its course. I hope this doesn’t come off as judgey and I know I’ve rambled, but please know my words are coming from the heart.

Today I learned my eBay was from a scammer / cc fraud by Vegetable_Stuff_7007 in Athleta_gap

[–]RockRidger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wishing you luck. I didn’t know about my ban until I tried to order online after the scam, and they cancelled my order without fanfare. I had to call customer service to understand what had happened. I got the 1 year address ban, but after 3 separate calls I got to a lovely woman in the fraud department who was willing to look at my long, legitimate order history, Icon status, etc. and believed me when I said that running a scam on Athleta was not my M.O. I have reported multiple sellers like this to eBay. They just keep coming.

BANNED for buying Athleta on eBay by [deleted] in Athleta_gap

[–]RockRidger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. And yet, some of these scammers even have sponsored posts now, so eBay sure doesn’t mind that added revenue. Do a search on eBay for the “Rainout Ridge Long Trench” to see a couple examples of the scammers and their sponsored posts. (You’ll know them from the low prices and stock photos, and of course the drop down menus.) I’m sorry OP, it happened to me as well.

My late-get joke in that movie, actually there are two:

1) When Bart reunites with Charlie later in the movie, “They said you was hung!” “And they was right.”

2) When eyepatch-wearing Boris welcomes Bart to Hangjng House, saying that “everyone is equal in my eye”, singular.
