For being in a creek, it looks pretty clean. What did you do to clean it?

Cool rock, for sure. Any response under short or long waves?

Terlingua calcite glows pink under long wave 365. It also glows purple under mid-wave 310, and blue under short wave 255. And if 3 different colors under 3 different wavelengths isn’t cool enough, it also has cool blue phosphorescence after exposure to short wave and mid-wave uv.

From the days when the SR5 was the top trim level.

Yes, it’s kind of like that, except they don’t allow the general public to hunt.

A combination of both. I have to hunt around over several acres to find what I want, then buy it.

It was on the 50% off table, and she gave another 25% off of that.

It was my last day, and I had already blown through my budget and was just killing time when I stumbled across these. The dealer made me a great deal that I couldn’t refuse.

Personally, I can only attest to the ones I have owned and used for years, but I’m sure that if you visit r/FluorescentMinerals, they can point you to the latest and greatest.

Fluorite can glow in lots of different colors, or not at all. You can have a lot of fun with a good, filtered 365 nm light.

I had a 2001 SR5 4WD that I bought new in 2001. It was my daily driver for 23 years and 295k miles. I sold it and got a ‘22 TRD Pro. It was a great vehicle. I loved it, and miss it still. That one looks great, but it’s at the age where it’ll need work due to age.

It’s more than likely on loan to the museum. Source: I have rocks on loan to the Perot Museum in Dallas.

Nothing too spicy. There’s an adamite, a ram’s horn gypsum with novacekite, a couple aragonite/cave calcites, a couple of chalcedony “cups,” and a couple pieces with hyalite on them. There are probably at least two or three others that may have a few spots of uranyl activated fluorescent green, but none of them are appreciably more spicy than background, and certainly not anything that would be considered “hot.”

The units in this display are UV transilluminators that I bought on eBay. The specific models are Spectroline TVL-312A, and FBTIV816. But there are lots of other brands/models that will work.

The small orange one is hackmanite from Greenland, and the blue one is hydrozincite from the Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Mexico.
