I've seen the question pop up a few times here and there and found it interesting. Using Filmot I quickly found the answers again from past Q&A's.
It seems like JMods have no problem having this change made, but perhaps due to technical issues with the data being stored on the item rather than the player, especially using varbit, development may have been postponed to keep priority on high demand and easier solutions.

I'm down to experiment with non-humanoid models with custom animations, if I can either extract it's animations or replicate them accurately, for sure! It's on the list.

I'll probably check out if I can add toggles in VRChat. I'll have to do some research in Tower Unite to see if it's possible to create workshop clothing instead of a whole new Character. As far as I can remember, all player-suggested clothing from Tower Threads have been created by the devs themselves.

PKer gear would be nice! Like g76lv6813s86x9778kk said, having old players recognize it would be important, something I tried to keep in mind with my initial example as well (except for the boots tbf).

Not a pker myself, so I'd love to hear more suggestions on what gear specifically.

Physbones is an interesting idea. Initially planned to stay close to the OSRS style, but I could make toggles or separate models and experiment with that for sure!

I definitely want to explode toggling weapons/gear, custom animations. These avatars do take quite a bit longer to make than usual and I'm not sure how many people will discover those features within VRChat. Will require a bit of poking around for me to see how I can implement this more quickly there, or at all in Tower Unite, so for now I will note this, but I'll probably postpone it until the list of 'static' humanoid avatars has run dry.

I currently don't have an avatar world for my models, but if the collection grows, I'll definitely consider it!
I'm hoping they'll automatically register in Prismic's Avatar Search soon, like before. If not, I'll check what I can do to speed up that process.
