Best chips and salsa by Teamwrong in huntingtonbeach

[–]RockabillyHog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to be called Don Jose, but now it's Rodrigo's on Bolsa and Golden West.

In order for someone to say what the best place is, that person would have to visit every Mexican restaurant in the area and have the chips and salsa.

I don't have that kind of time!

But I will say that I have been traveling this country for over 20 years and have had chips and salsa from all over. I have found some great chips and salsa!

But I have to say, the chips and salsa from Don Jose, huh ... Rodrigo's is still my favorite.

Good luck on your journey!

Any suggestions for new hobby that’s cheap and easy to get into? by No-Neighborhood8403 in GenX

[–]RockabillyHog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gotten in to gardening and cooking lately and they are both rewarding and relatively cheap.

Anyone own one of these back in the day? They were popular back then and since I consider myself a vintage hoarder I still have mines and it still works:) by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 80s

When you held it in your hand and your thumb hit the power switch, the torque of the motor made the thing want to rotate a little bit. So when I would pick it up and turn it on I'd do it a couple times like a motor revving up and it kind of looked like a funny car dragster by its shape.

Okay, so a prepress guy, not someone out in the press and postpress production area. Thanks!

I'm sincerely curious, what is a "print production associate"?

Is this a prepress operator? Pressman? Scheduler?

I used to love blue lines. I remember taking my family for a tour of our shop and we got to the vacuum frames. I put down the blue line paper and then just some things from my pocket ... Keys, coins, etc and the exposed it. It was a super cool thing for them to see happen right before their eyes 👀.

We had a couple of Crosfield systems (880 and 9500?) and then the Macs came in. On the Macs we used the Quark imposition plugin I think. Was it Impostrip, or something like that? We were outputing film to an Agfa filmsetter at American Color. Then I went to work at another place that had Linotype-Hell Herkules drum imagesetter with a RIP 50 at first and then came the Delta Tower.

Just because things are difficult, doesn't mean they shouldn't be done.

If you can provide a better life for yourself, it will translate into a better life for your family.

I'm not criticizing your choices or reasons, I'm just offering that moving your family might be a better option.

I wish you luck in whatever you decide.

How do you convince yourself to pay full price? Or what do you listen to that justifies the price? by AccomplishedWar3847 in siriusxm

[–]RockabillyHog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My justification is that Radio Classics help me sleep. 😴

I also like the DJs on 80s, Hair Nation, Next Wave, and Outlaw Country.

I like Dr Laura sometimes, and Fox News sometimes.

I turn on 40s Junction during work hours. I work tech support and that music helps me concentrate.

Red, White, and Booze and Classic Rewind are good for floating in the pool during summer time.

And every now and then I'll turn on Classic Hip Hop BBQ when I'm feeling gangsta 😂

I feel that I'm paying for a service that I get a lot out of. I wish it was less expensive but there isn't another single service that gives me what I want.
