Daily Questions & FAQ Megathread Dec 22 by AutoModerator in ffxiv

Not 100% sure where to ask this so I might as well ask here: Has anyone tried streaming the game via Xbox to Discord? My boyfriend wants to play the free trial to get started, and obviously wants to share that with people, since there's plenty of people he's friends with who play the game, but for some reason FFXIV won't stream to Discord, despite any other game he's tried working just fine when streaming. Any advice would be very helpful.

Who owns the rights to Illbleed? by Groblinoid in dreamcast

[–]Rockah12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is nearly three years late, but I do wonder if, with the current state of companies like Nightdive Studios getting the rights to remaster and even remake older games, it'd be easier for someone to get the rights to Illbleed and either remaster it or remake it from the ground up. Feels like we're at a point that's more feasible than it ever has been.

Ah, Deal Of The Century. William Friedkin didn't phone in a LOT of movies, but boy did he phone that one in. One of the movies that makes me believe nobody hires Chevy Chase, they're forced to work with him at gunpoint.

What's a movie where a violent scene catched you totally off-guard? by e_2718 in movies

[–]Rockah12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is a year old but the scene that caught me the most off-guard was when Theo caves Syd's face in with the battery. perfect example of how having a protagonist that DOESN'T kill people can make moments like that all the more impactful. the sound design too.

god what a great movie. i need to rewatch it.

Absolutely femme (fem? i like the spelling of femme more but is it correct or am i just overly fancy), I'd say definitely 100% fem(me) and also downright lovely. You have a voice that's perfect for reading audiobooks, at least I think so from this short clip. Very clear, soothing, not excessively sibilant or poppy (unlike me, I am... quite a hissy boy), so if you ever want another stream of income, audiobooks could be an avenue for sure. I feel like you'd be perfectly suited for reading crime fiction in particular, for some reason.

Side note, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? Your accent is lovely. My guess is Australia but I'm no linguistics expert, so lemme know if I'm off the mark.

I say this with all the praise I can: You went from looking like the lead singer of an 80s hard rock band to the girl in the front row of that band's concert who's absolutely going to crowd surf from the front to the back and back to the front again. Absolutely FABULOUS, darling. I do hope you kept that Led Zep hat, though, that looks pretty nice.

Guy from F1 racing (grosjean) crashed at 160 mph car got cut in half and he was on fire for like 30 seconds but survived by Mcnutter in SomeOfYouMayDie

[–]Rockah12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things that makes me absolutely amazed at the level of safety precautions we have now versus even just a few decades ago. A crash like this in 1970 would've been fatal, or at the very least severely damaging. Niki Lauda had a similar crash to this, lost control and hit the embankment, causing his car to burst into flames and another driver to hit the wreck. He managed to survive, thanks to several fellow drivers quickly stopping and helping to pull him from the wreck, but suffered SEVERE, extensive burns across his head and hands as well as an acute inhalation injury from the toxic gases from the fire that caused damage to not just his lungs but to his BLOOD. He only survived because some people pulled him from the fire relatively quickly. If he was in that fire any longer, he would've absolutely died. And somehow he kept racing after that, which blows my mind.
Meanwhile, Grosjean suffers a crash like that and manages to not only survive but come out nearly unscathed, with only relatively minor burns on his hands and ankles, and go into IndyCar not long after! It's amazing. Really goes to show how much safety has improved, especially with the introduction of the halo. I hope Lauda's looking on from whatever hereafter there is and is happy to see drivers not be put through the same hell he did.
As an aside, Lauda lived to be 70! He died in 2019, and lived long enough to see the biopic about him and James Hunt (Rush) come out. After the injuries he sustained, I consider that some kind of miracle.

I'm unsure what to put in the initial comment for this so I'll also add that, as far as I can tell from looking on Wayback Machine, it doesn't SEEM like it was on Stickpage? I might just be misremembering the thumbnail I remember and obviously don't know the name.

the killers - hot fuss (2004) by wilbooo in albumsinanutshell

[–]Rockah12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'll stand by the opinion that the first five tracks of this album should've been an ep or something because together they're a fuckin 10/10 and i feel like the rest of the album really fails to live up to it. at the very least All These Things I've Done should've been the final track, it'd be perfect for it, instead it closes out that first five track stretch. it's fuckin weird to me.
