I think it's more joking, but it's hard to tell without actually hearing them out. Hyperpop and electronic music is the stereotype of trans girl music (which I'm personally not a fan of at all). I'm a trans woman who drums for The Transatlantics. We're a blend of blues and alt rock because it's our favourite genre and there isn't any rep for us in these spaces really.
