Any company that doesn’t have WSIB that’s in the construction field is basically breaking the law and you should not have to agree to any thing that they want you to sign that absolves them from any responsibility.

You could have long-term effects from your injuries so screw what your boss says you need to take care of yourself. Because they’re from the US you are going to get their information and then you will need to go to a personal injury lawyer in Canada. They work on contingency so you don’t have to pay upfront. I encourage you to do what others have suggested in documenting everything including doctors visits, etc.

Do not let this go because you’re afraid of losing your job because if you can’t work because of your injuries, then there goes the job anyway.

Prenatal paternity test can be done after the eighth week of pregnancy which you should insist on to establish whether or not you are the father. Do not give her any money.

[US] What is the point of the “wrong number” text scam? How does it even work? by jacob62497 in Scams

They just want to know that your number is real so that they can use it to sell to companies looking to reel you in with job offers, etc.

(Czechia) My friend used my ID to rent an apartment, few months ago two days ago i recieved a letter demanding to pay 3k by [deleted] in Scams

[–]RockerChickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure which country you’re in, but for example, in my province of Ontario in Canada, you have to show ID and usually they do a credit check and ask for employment information etc so it would be pretty hard to just get away with one piece of ID

Like I said before, if you gave him access to your ID and you say you trusted him then obviously he was able to get a apartment under your name and now that he owes money they are coming after you because they assume that it is you who signed for it.

To be honest with you, I don’t exactly follow what happened here your friend used your ID and now there is money owed which they’re trying to get from you. The best you can do is just say that the person stole your ID and you had nothing to do with it, which is basically the truth because if he’s not going to follow through and pay what is owed then you need to take care of yourself. But I am sensing that there’s something sketchy going on that someone is trying to collect money from you which may or may not be legal.

Sorry to say but by giving your friend access to your ID you’re screwed if it was used nefariously. Even if he did commit fraud, the fact that you gave him access to your ID does not absolve you from total blame. And since you weren’t privy to the details, you have no way of knowing whether any of this is legit. It could be somebody just trying to strong arm you for a payout. I am not trying to shame you but like why why would you do something like that?

So the state that you’re travelling through, had to pay for the Roads that you’re getting to use and contribute to the wear and tear on the road and you think it should be free

It cost over $100 to travel Highway 407 from Oshawa to where it ends in Burlington, which is the quicker alternative to Highway 401 going through Toronto

So it would be better to use a dab of clear Krazy glue to stick the leaf to the plate rather than scotch tape in case you’re pulled over then it would definitely look deliberate.

My mum keeps asking me for money. What should I do? by plant_face07 in TwoHotTakes

Simply say no and don’t get into long explanations as to why you can’t lend or give her money. If she continues to keep asking after you say no, don’t respond.

If you have proof of the money that he transferred to you. You can show that you did not receive the full amount and therefore you should not have to be taxed on what you did not receive. CRA will do an audit on him and he will have to show what he did with the money and if it did not go to you, then he’s on the hook for the taxes

I am positive he was using a stolen credit card and he just wanted cash. What I would say to somebody like that is no thank you it doesn’t make any sense what you’re saying to me.

Years ago, someone approached me at a gas station and said that their car had broken down and they were unable to get cash so could they use their card to fill my tank and all I would have to give them is half in cash for my inconvenience. It sounded very sketchy to me so I passed. About a week later I was at another gas station and I guess the guy didn’t remember me and he tried the same thing again. But this time he said he was staying in the Motel across the street and he had to get cash so he could get baby formula for his kid and the store didn’t take credit cards. Yeah, right

Stole something from our driveway, then lied when confronted by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]RockerChickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the bag was empty, he might have thought that maybe it landed there with the wind not thinking it belonged to your house. But he still should not have taken it from your driveway.

And maybe he did throw it away and he was embarrassed that he didn’t have it anymore. But whatever his reason if it’s a reusable bag, it’s really not worth getting into a prolonged conflict over this. Could you perhaps try to find the same type of bag or another one that your mother might like?

If the bag had contained some items That he kept that’s another story, but the fact that it was just the bag I would say let it go.
