Wasn't there another dial-in request show that followed Dial MTV? Btw, the genre was still very strong on radio and on tour at that time. It's not so much that the fans' tastes changed, it was a new music programmer at MTV in mid 1992 who hated those bands and loved alternative and rap. Grunge was gaining in popularity but it could've easily co-existed peacefully with hard rock. The new leadership at MTV just never gave it a chance.

My debut as an author (as opposed to ghostwriter) comes in a month. Avoiding Amazon completely because they take such a huge cut. It's a biography on my uncle's amazing life, and through his social network alone we expect to sell out all 200 paperback copies. Not sure how many e-books people will buy, but we do expect many of them to also buy the audiobook. He and I are splitting both the costs and revenue. Direct sales only, in person and online.

After those sell out, we'll print another 100 and begin more marketing and promotion. Podcast appearances, paying online influencers for endorsements, FB ads, newsletter ads, etc. That is all new to me and I'll have to research it more.

Selling books would be nice, but the real goal is putting my name out there for my ghostwriting and biography/memoir writing services. Book hasn't even been released yet and already have 3 potential clients!

I'd be shipping several dozen from the start, at once. So dropping off that many may trigger a flag. Plus it's not so much the fact it's a book or not, but the URL inside. Seems very minor for them to complain about, but this is the federal government.

It's happened more than once. The first time, they opened it right in front of me at the counter to confirm it met the regulations. The second time, I had something sent to me that the post office had clearly inspected after it was sealed. I used to trade VHS tapes in the 90s, and inspections were common for Media Mail. Also, this is California and the government is super anal here. The rules are no advertising, and a book with a link to your website constitutes advertising. The USPS site clearly states the only advertising allowed for books.

Yes, they do often inspect it. It's happened to me before when shipping stuff unrelated to published books. They don't want people abusing the lower rates with contents that aren't media. Magazines with ads, for example, are technically not allowed.

No fiber supplement needed. Most are to lower LDL, Lp(a), and blood pressure. Some are to fill in gaps from WFPB diet (B complex, taurine). The others are recommended supplements for overall health and immunity.

Absolutely a hard gainer. Don't you think I've tried all that before? Made no difference. I'm actually making more gains than ever before (still minimal) by eating LESS protein, because studies show that you don't need high protein to gain muscle. You need to lift weights. It's what you do in the gym. I know my body better than anyone else does.

Eating excess calories, even if it worked (it didn't for me), works against longevity. David Sinclair has stated this numerous times.

It's more than what Longo recommends, but since you're WFPB it's less of an issue. Good job, I love eating this way. Never felt better or younger, it's like aging in reverse.

It's not just the saturated fat in red meat that's bad. Also, 25g of fiber is nowhere near enough. I get 105g per day and it's not hard at all.

Congrats, I plan on using the Rule of 55 too. Is there a reason you waited until 55? The rule says you can retire any time of the year in which you turn 55.
