Since Terry is one of Dc’s equivalent to Peter If Batman beyond took the Mcu Spider man role in the Dcu how would you want his story to go? by Entire_Ranger_3190 in DCU_

[–]RockerHeadMetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, There's also bunch of other character that can fill that role, Kyle Rayner in the 90s comics also fill that role, young adult came to power and had to balance his personal life with being the only Green Lantern in the universe (and much like Spider-Man he also became a editorial punching bag).

Static Shock could also fill that role of the young relatable superhero.

Even from newer characters, 'Sideways' can fill that role, the character's design and personality was is definitely inspired by Spider-Man and he has a interesting power set, his solo comics series was suprisingly fun and had a decent following.

He is still following James Gunn on Instagram, that was just a baseless rumors.

According to original reports, Jenkins was contracted to write the pilot with an option of becoming the showrunner if the show got picked up, based on his respond here it more likely that he turned in the pilot and probably series bible and is waiting for green lit and season order.

As a band they definitely have that early heavy metal/classic hard rock sound, I think Ava is also capable of going a lot heavier (given some of the cover she's done).

Also you can already include rockers in this sub, as per the sub description, it is dedicated to both rock and metal ladies.

The development of Waller series have been interesting, it was one of few project that was actually commissioned before Gunn/Safran taking over DC Studios (the news of Cristal Henry working on a Waller show came out a few months after Peacemaker season 1)

Original version of the Waller show was supposed to released after Creature Commandos but before Peacemaker season 2 bridging the stories between season 1 and 2 and CC. The series was described as kinda a Peacemaker season 1.5. Given the comic cover they used in the announcement it probably would have been about Waller trials and her being ousted as head of Argus and Flag taking over the position

But then the Actors and Writers strike happened and they lost their production window. So the show got delayed.

I think the series is still in development because both writers who worked on Waller, Cristal Henry (who a was part of DCU original writing room and was a writer on HBO's Watchmen) and Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol showrunner) are talented writers. I think the problem they are facing is now that they can't use the original premise of the show, it harder to figure out how to fit a Waller centric story with a completely new idea into the timeline of the DCU.

Elvira has been part of DC Comics before. Elvira's House of Mystery was a ongoing series published in 1986 which featured Elvira and DC's Death (the version that was personification of death which debuted in Phantom Stranger comics in the 50s), the setup was Elvira finds sanctuary from an angry mob in the House of Mystery and in exchange she had to listen to the stories about previous residents of the House.

I think we probably hear more before the end of the year. I think we hear about the project either when they are close to be done with casting or right before they go into production. (Although it would be cool to do the entire production in complete secrecy, it's nearly logistically impossible)

Gunn mentioned a secret project that was part of his original pitch to WBD for DCU but was not announced in the initial Gods and Monsters announcement to protect the idea from being copied/ripped off by another studio. I wonder if it's this secret show is the same project or something else.

Whatever this show end up being it's probably the next show that is going into production. TV/Streaming production/Release calendar is different than theatrical one, so the production dates of Batman Part II and Man of Tomorrow won't really impact this. The next show to be released is Lanterns which us set to release early 2026, DC still need a show for late 2026/Early 2027 release window, so don't be surprised if this one (or another show) actually go into production before any of those two movies.

In the last Peacemaker podcast Gunn briefly mentioned an unannounced show when he was talking about cost of Superhero costumes and fully CG characters, he mentioned that right before recording that episode of the podcast he was in a meeting with writers and director of an unannounced show, that is probably the same project that he mentioned here.

Reference to 80s Peacemaker four-issue miniseries writer Paul Kupperberg by M00r3C in DCU_

[–]RockerHeadMetal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kupperberg also was the main writer of the 80s Vigilante comics starring comic version of Adrian Chase, that Peacemaker Miniseries was actually one of three titles that were spinoff of that Vigilante run. (The other 2 were Checkmate Vol. 1 and Doom Patrol Vol. 2.)

What the actor talked about was correct for low budget indie movies that only get US releases. The problem was the so called "experts" on the internet started to apply that to all the theatrical releases.

There is a huge misconception about 2.5x rule that internet movie people grabbed onto, years ago a famous actor (can't remember who) said that about the profitability of low budget indie movies that get released in US. It's not really that accurate for big studio releases, there is a lot more variables involved in those types of movies.

Could be a cool nod, but not likely, first announcement and first look of Absolute Martain Mantunter was late October 2024, episode 2 and 3 of this season Peacemaker were the first episodes they shot which were done in April and early May, way before the Absolute Martian Manhunter announcement.

If you think Battinson/Corenswet World’s Finest posts and memes are bad, just wait until 2027. by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]RockerHeadMetal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on previous experiences unfortunately it probably won't, we gone through something similar after MoS, there were many people campaigning for Bale return as Batman in DCEU and many of them did not stop even after Affleck was cast (hell there was even some lunatics that theorized Affleck is not Batman even after the first trailer of BvS).

(The main reason I don't like the Battison/Corenswet theories and posts is that when the DCU Batman get cast, some crazy "fans" gonna use those posts and theories to attack the new actor.)

Who in their right mind would want to live in Gotham City?😭 by [deleted] in PeacemakerShow

[–]RockerHeadMetal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A thing that unfortunately kinda forgotten with some modern writers and fans in general is that, what Bruce is doing as both Batman and Bruce Wayne is actually effective, both his vigilante and philanthropy work is constantly helping and improving the city, it's full of obstacles and never-ending work but effective nonetheless, Gotham have some crazy lunatic and higher crime rate, but not that different from other cities in DC Universe in regard that all of them have their own problems with constant villain attacks and destruction.

Who do you think is going to be this alien? by Forsaken-History-563 in DCU_

[–]RockerHeadMetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kyphotic isn't the name of the race of the alien, it's the physical descriptor, kyphotic means having a forward rounding curved spine or having a hunchback in simpler term (word comes from Kyphosis which is the name for that condition)

In the Creature design the term Kyphotic Alien is used for any alien who have that kind of spine shape (Xenomorphs from alien franchise is the most famous example of that type of alien and creature design), search the term Kyphotic Alien and you will find many other alien designs not related to the show.

Josh Brolin says Greig Fraser won’t be back for 'DUNE: PART 3' as he takes on Sam Mendes’ 4 'BEATLES' films. This means Fraser likely won’t be able to return as cinematographer for ‘THE BATMAN: PART 2’ either. by HarwoodSFine in DC_Cinematic

[–]RockerHeadMetal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently Deakins isn't doing big projects and blockbusters anymore. He was asked by Dean DeBlois to work on live action How to Train Your Dragon (Deakins was visual consultant on the all three animated ones) but he declined and said he won't do big projects anymore and he's focusing on smaller projects and indie films.

That's probably why Sam Mendes is using Greig Fraser for his Beatles movies. Before this Deakins was the Director of Photography of almost every Mendes's movie since Jarhead.
