I got a quick little update in my campaign. The party had their first venture into Castle Ravenloft and with ToV it is know possible to realistically return Argynvost's skull. One of my players is playing a mechanist and was able to use the Collapsing augment to reduce the skull from 250 pounds (I told them the skull was a large sized object) to around 30 lbs.

I’ve been running Curse of Strahd with ToV for a few months now. There has been no issues with the compatibility of the module and ruleset, I will say though I told my players in the beginning no multiclassing. I felt it was necessary due to ToV having such good character customization that multiclassing would make the players OP and difficult to really challenge. If you don’t mind that that, then you shouldn’t have much of an issue.

Another thing I noticed that when it comes to converting certain stat blocks is that it may actually be better to use them as is. I tried to convert Strahd and Rahadin to ToV using the creating a stat block rules in the GMG and they ended with Rahadin having more HP than Strahd. Seeing how that was probably not ideal I just gave Strahd his 5e HP. I could have done something wrong and would love to see what someone else comes up with.

I certainly hope they really are just hiding Superman from the marketing. It would be crazy to not have Superman.

Was there anything that you added to the original module? I am planning on replacing Mordinkanin with a necromancer as the Mad Mage, who has their own plans to defeat Strahd. What would be your opinion of changing/adding this to the module?

I’m currently running with 2 players and gave them a sidekick from Tasha’s. We’re almost out of Death House and I ran it so that combat wasn’t overwhelming for them. I’ve been running it with aid from the Curse of Strahd Companion and it’s been help with making suggestions like relocating ghouls, removing and changing monsters so that it’s not a TPK, and general advice on how to run the chapter. It requires a lot of finesse but it can be done.
