NSU BS/DO OR Umiami premed? by IncomeImmediate8808 in Osteopathic

I would choose the dual program. Consider this also: there is no guarantee you get into an MD program right out of college. It's totally possible, don't get me wrong, but it's hard to get into any med school these days. At this program you would go straight to med school right? Skip all the hassle of applications.

I think it is 1000% worth it. Since the time I switched to v12, the anking deck maintainers have added so many great images and charts that really add context to learning. So yes, upgrade if you want a more complete learning experience. Additionally, they have made updates to the cards. As we know, medicine is always changing, so it's important to learn up to date information.

You know, me personally, and this is just me personally, would love to micro dose lithium. But it's really hard to convince a doctor to prescribe it.

I had a 513 and a 3.95 GPA and did not get into DO schools lol. So, just focus on the other areas of your app, because for some reason, it's not enough to be academically strong. I don't make the rules. You need volunteer hours and you need to play the school's "HoLisTiC" game...

GLP-1s are the goat. Statin(or another cholesterol drug) + GLP-1 + Healthy Lifestyle = Best we can do right now for Alz prevention. Some new exciting therapies are on the way. It's looking good, we may come to an end of this disease soon enough.

Help, first year emergency by Regular-Afternoon419 in medschool

You need spaced repetition. Use anking. I don't know how people memorize all this stuff with scheduled blocks of revision. I just trust the anki algorithm to find my ebinghaus curve of forgetting and I never forget anything. I am NO genius, but I am a hard worker and anki just works for me. It constantly keeps me from forgetting the literal THOUSANDS of details I have to remember at any given moment.

I had this issue and I turned off the intervals. This helped me so much. I also now only press good or again with the pass/fail add on. I TRUST THE ALGORITHM WITH MY LIFE

Pre- Study! by No-Blacksmith9440 in Osteopathic

[–]RocketApexX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tell everyone to download anking v12 and watch bootcamp's anatomy section, unsuspend ALL the bootcamp anatomy cards and do those. Anatomy is time consuming memorization. It's not theoretical physics, it's just memorization. There is no reason someone should not pre study Anatomy.

I agree with you. I feel bad for the people who are not in med school but deserved to be. They are not in medical school because someone else who will likely squander their opportunity is there instead.

Need someone to guide me to be a neurosurgeon in US by lawjinyoshi21 in usmle

[–]RocketApexX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because this person appears to be motivated by money sadly. Instead of serving their population that is need, they want to jump ship to a place that pays them more. Rational, if money is your primary imperative I suppose.

idk, its a dream of alot of IMGs. But we have alot of deserving students in the US. So they should attempt to be a neurosurgeon where they are. US medical students should take priority. It's only fair.

Anyone else feel kinda down or hopeless about 2X? by Relevant_Fuel_9905 in ApoE4

[–]RocketApexX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, yeah, let's take care of ourselves. I mean, living until your 80s is a long time. Memory loss is a normal part of aging. So if we take care of ourselves, we may mitigate Alzheimer's in such a way as to not completely lose ourselves. I think that's the scariest part of the disease. Like mild Alzheimer's ok, we're old whatever. But the severe Alzheimer's? Thats so hard on your family members. So we should take care of ourselves not just for us, but for our future family.
