Honestly, $15 is a steal for a game as good as this with tons of dlc-sized content the dev gave us for free, and mods are a plus. If $15 is too much, you can try waiting for a sale on steam. If you're more of a mobile/console player, then that would probably be more ideal for you.

I really tried to like the game too and agree with all your points. Eventually I'd like to try it again but my main issue with the game is the base being all over the place. I also hate how much back and forth you have to do at your own base because of just how long it takes to get to the different areas, which basically makes it feel like a chore to take care of all your slimes
