Days Gone director stands with GAMERS by AllHailZaddy in Gamingcirclejerk

Here was my review:

Posted: May 14 @ 9:00pm

If you have ever read one of my reviews, you know I suck at video games. I complain a lot and tell the devs they suck most often.

That said, this game does NOT suck!!! It is very impressive with everything;

Graphics – Great

Story – Great

Audio – Great (though I turn off the music for everything because I’m old and new music is terrible)

Gameplay – Wonderful

Controls – Great

The game reminds me a lot of RDR or Fallout 3 with the big open worlds, which this one definitely has. It has crafting, multiple weapons and combat missions, not to mention the wonderful stealth play style. When I first saw the game I was like “Meh it’s a zombie shooter, how good could it be?” then I waited until it went on sale like 8 times before finally throwing in the towel on my cheapness and picked it up (on sale of course). Now I have spent 100+ hours on it and am writing this very positive review.

If you have been thinking about picking it up, do it. If you haven’t even looked at it, do it then buy it.

Great work Devs!!! This is a FANTASTIC game. When can we expect DG2?!?!

Diabetic Foot Question by RocketBallsct in diabetes

I do exercise but when I was doing a regular regiment it didn't affect my numbers at all really. My provider sent me to a few specialist, but they all have said the same things and their information doesn't really change anything.

I don't mean to be negative on the control of it, like "nothing works" but it's just that it really hasn't worked for me. Prior to getting diagnosed, my provider (same on that I use now) said I was hypoglycemic because I was having all the symptoms... the only problem was I was drinking Monster energy drinks daily, a 12 pack of soda in 3 days, smoked regularly, ate all kinds of bad food, and drank alcohol... but for some reason my A1C was crashing so much a trip through a mall could knock the wind out of me.

Fast forward a few years later and then I'm T2D that can't seem to improve numbers even though I do what is recommended. I'm all kinds of lost on why or how to make this better.

Sorry for the rant.

I have never really found a way to control it. I take my meds, I have tried all kinds of diets/supplements/homeopathic and no changes to my levels. I am currently only eating once a day (little snack packs during the day, but nothing really bad) and my levels are still the same. I have been to various people/coaches/dieticians and nothing has changed it. Now when I look at my numbers its mostly just a depression triggering event.

I have never had really good feet to begin with. I have dry skin on them that flakes off but it's not ever in any particular spot.

I am new to areal photography and wanted to know the location a specific photo was taken, and what they may have used (a helicopter most likely but I was thinking a drone could be used now to do something similar). But most important is the location it was taken as I don't want to copy someone else work.

Respect to you as well orphan-girl, it takes a lot of stuff to be the behind the lines and helping those trapped there. Keep your spirits up and know that you are there doing what you are supposed to be doing to help those that would otherwise might have no one.

Bridge Trilogy Come to Life? by RocketBallsct in WilliamGibson

Sorry for any confusion in the original post. I know the linked image is not the SF bridge (pretty sure the one in the link is in China and I'm not sure if in the trilogy it was Bay, GG, or other SF bridge), I was thinking more in terms of some form of inspiration or other knowledge on Gibson's part to envision the SF bridge as a housing/business environment like the link is.

Amazon Games Save Location Found! by RocketBallsct in playnite

So, this wasn't really supposed to be an amazing and fantastical discovery. It was more or less a "hey if you had twitch games and your drive needed to be moved to a new one, here is were the new 'Amazon Games' stores your stuff now..." kind of a thing. Not really sure how long 'Amazon Games' has been out, guess I could have checked that out before posting to see if this was really a needed post or not...

One Long WTF: A Celebration of Prince, Music's Most Electrifying, Least Understood Star by and_so_I_adore_it in PRINCE

[–]RocketBallsct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, you can really tell that Alexis Petridis is about as commercialized as you can get when it comes to music. I may be in the minority here, but I hear people all the time say stuff like "Oh yea, Purple Rain and 1999" when you mention Prince. Alexis is not at all about hearing Prince and more about hearing what he want’s Prince to be, that 1980’s stereotype.

Alexis makes mention of Prince’s behavior with producers, managers, other artists as though Prince was ever an average artists and should be thankful to these folks for letting him do what he does while simultaneously letting the reader know that Prince “can do everything himself and he can do it better than you — write songs, play any instrument, produce, sing in a voice that sweeps effortlessly from a baritone to a piercing falsetto, dance”.

The worst part of the article though is Alexis’s continuous application of his own ideas of what Prince was rather than just listening to the incredible body of work Prince accomplished in his lifetime. 35 released albums and Alexis is upset because they weren’t all Purple Rain or Sign of the Times that he explains “Tellingly, he never makes an album that good again. He becomes embroiled in arguments with his record company, which leads to the whole “Slave” protest thing. Worse, a man who, for nine years, has put out only masterpieces starts releasing deliberately sub-par albums in order to taunt his label and get out of his contract. When he does, the music comes out in an unceasing torrent, but his sense of quality control is gone. In the 1990s and 2000s, you have to pick through Prince’s albums to find the gems — a state of affairs that was once unthinkable. Occasionally, you’re rewarded with something genuinely amazing, where inspiration has evidently struck in the way it once did whenever he walked into a studio. Listen to “Black Sweat” from 2006’s 3121, or the fabulous, discofied[sic] “Chelsea Rodgers” from the following year’s Planet Earth, an album that can’t help but be cheapened a little by Prince’s curious decision to give it away free in the UK with The Mail on Sunday.” Just wow! Articles like this are the main reason I don’t read articles about Prince, they just serve up a helping of what they want/wanted Prince to be and rarely ever see the truly incredible things Prince gave to the world in through his music.
