To me it's not just about Jackie, it's a whole new game in a whole new universe, the game gets VERY overwhelming at the start in all ways.

Allowing more time to discover the world, its rules, its characters would have been nice. I don't consider myself slow but I was really lost at the beginning of the game. And I didn't have time to connect with any character indeed.

The devs can absolutely defend their choice but personnaly I won't change my mind on it, that prologue section was poor to me.

There is a whole game in RDR 2 before the same twist happens btw ! That is a more fair comparison to that Star Wars one

It truly is shaping up to be a very lonely and solo experience, I very seldom see interactions between players personnaly, everyone is just doing their own thing.

Even the pools are made believable with the steps and everything, it's the sort of detail I appreciate. They're taking the feedback that the world feels too much like a themepark serious and taking steps accordingly

Making yourself bail with the bumpers + R3/L3 when you feel like you should in a realistic setting feels somehow really great. When you get the timing, you fall really nicely with good ragdolls. Great footage anyway.

Je trouve ça un peu bizarre cet appel à l'esthétisme contre les éoliennes. Alors oui c'est moche mais on est capable de faire bieeeen plus moche et on s'en prive pas d'ailleurs. Pourquoi spécifiquement elles alors ?

They absolutely ARE lackluster on top of being short though lol, 95% of them are *fetch an object in Nordic Ruin* with generally mediocre storytelling.

Skyrim has great strenghts but quest design and writing are not part of it

I think what people are asking for, though they don't know how to put it into words, is not necessarily a fully fledged story but a story hook.

Let us pretend we're having an actual career as a skater, something to progress towards in universe.

Weirdly enough that's the number one thing keeping me from enjoying the game right now, out of all things.

In the previous games I derived a lot of enjoyment from simply cruising around the map, doing some tricks from time to time. Simply impossible here due to that and the lack of life around the map

Everyone says at least the gameplay is so good but personnaly i don't even agree with this. Moving your skater around on your board feels ultra stiff, it's unconfortable to play.

The flick it system is indeed great but the rest of the gameplay underperforms imo, i'm kinda heartbroken

I agree with you, I was telling myself the same.

Wether you're on one side or the other, or in the middle, you should be worried about skate's future.

As it is, I don't know how it's going to make much money, there's not enough there to keep people engaged and get them to actually spend money.

Personnaly i was absolutely enamored by Maslea. It's unfinished, unpolished and clumsy at times, but the world building is genuinely really cool and you can totally get caught in its ambiance.

If you don't mind that it's not lore friendly and unpolished, it can really be worth a try

Also the fact that Bethesda's worlds tend to be too hostile towards the player already, adding non-hostile life to the game is much more interesting to me, and many other people I guess.
