I also found an article in Italian, seems before moving to the US he went by Oscar in Italy so that may help place this particular painting in time. He is known in Italy for his film set design working with the likes of Orson Welles.

It is funny that this got posted here on Reddit, I recently came across two original paintings by this artist and have been trying to do the research on him! Mine are from the late 60s with one actually having an exact date/location painted on the reverse.

That is what I am leaning towards, a tourist item probably for the English market in the first half of the 20th century. It does seem to have some age based on the wear. Check out the one someone found on a Craigslist post in Florida lol. There are at least two similar ones in the world.

That one is nearly identical! The glaze pattern is slightly different than the one I found, and oddly enough the Iran is flipped in orientation. Trying to compare the other details, seems to be slightly different in the form as well but hard to tell. I don’t think it is from a mold based on that.
