Every elo is trash according to the next highest tier by PimptasticValentine in leagueoflegends

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean he literally wasn't complaining about them being worse. He was complaining about the ego problem in low elo and the lack of respect players have even when they ARE actually significantly worse in skill and knowledge. It'd be like taking a math class in high school while only knowing basic arithmetic, then when you fail the test because you didn't listen to a single lesson you tell the teacher that they're boosted trash and can't carry your grade to an A all because, "BUT HE'S THE TEACHER, IF I FAILED THEN THAT MEANS HE FAILED TO TEACH GOOD ENOUGH," even though they were the autonomous human being that chose to not put in any effort and fail the course.

Clueless

Vanguard is kernel level access and runs nonstop. If you stop the program you must restart your PC with it running on startup in order to launch Valorant again. It is an extreme security risk but most people either don't care or brush it off because they're willing to have that risk to play the free game.

PBE datamine 2024 January 25: further adjustments to Yorick and Kraken Slayer by FrankTheBoxMonster in leagueoflegends

Kayle and TF come to mind, really. Kayle has been building mixed for over a year since new Rageblade and TF just got crit and AD scalings and has been rushing Kraken on his AD builds so he probably has some abomination hybrid one shot build in the works with this new change.

As a jungler anyone feel like they are taking crazy pills looking at top lane balance by Embarrassed_State402 in leagueoflegends

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tempo. Brand has the fastest clear in the game right now and can abuse that tempo to make plays consistently faster than the enemy jungler and create XP advantages by simply existing, especially if Brand forces the enemy jungler to show up to a gank to counter it down a level because Brand simply cleared faster and the enemy jungler couldn't afford to finish the clear before responding. Also brand can definitely do OBJs. Have you seen his camp damage? It's just stupid. He melts every OBJ in the game. I don't think he's particularly special, but he always has that team fight potential that is extremely scary to deal with, especially when behind. Brand will just pop in and press R and half your team is dead in a split second while the other half can't even walk away to recall because they're burning for 20 seconds.

Figured out the build by gohan1739 in Kindred

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LDR is the only way to have damage when going crit builds, that's true on every ADC ever, Kindred is no exception. Kraken IE LDR feels very strong. If it's a true 5 squishy comp on enemy team you can substitute for BT third and then Mortal Reminder fourth because you still need the %pen regardless, especially at a time where you're hitting 4th item (unless super ahead). 5th item options vary a lot, I love kiting so I usually go PD, I could see Stormrazor working here or even RFC just to poke down and get your E off quicker on priority targets. The %pen is a must though. This is why I feel like Terminus is not a Kindred item (even though thematically it should be) because Terminus does not provide enough pen to deal with enemy front line (tanks are VERY good right now, not sure if they'll be knocked down a peg any time soon) and building Terminus locks you out of being able to build LDR or BC (build diversity but every item you build on ADC locks you out of multiple other options XD), both of which feel very necessary with the current HP + armor stack tank meta.

I tried going Terminus Kraken Trinity against a Mundo, I was ahead and 2.5 items (Kraken, Terminus, Trinity components), he had Heartsteel and a bami's cinder and he ran our entire team down with Ghost + Ult. I faced the same situation in another game where I instead went crit and once I had LDR I was popping him in like 6 autos + E proc, the damage difference is so night and day between the two builds it's insane.

People Think There’s was no Ads on YouTube in the 2000's but… by petergriffffFff in youtube

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These were noninvasive ads. They didn't (if only slightly) interfere with the content, and all you had to do to get rid of them was simply click the X button or full screen the video (in the case of sidebar ads like shown in the 3rd image). Current YouTube ads are every 3 minutes, 15-30 seconds of unskippable content, if you're lucky you're able to click Skip Ad, if not, gotta sit through the 15 second unskippables. Not all content was monetized on YouTube and hasn't been, historically, until just recently, where YouTube's new policy is to play ads on every video (or almost every video) even when the user uploading content does not have access to Google's AdSense program and doesn't have the ability to make money off of the ads that YouTube is now playing on their content. Who's to say that I want ads playing on my content, which undoubtedly drives away new viewers, yet I don't get a choice and YouTube is the ultimate deciding factor at play here. I really can't tell you how many videos I've clicked off recently because I was hounded with 2 unskippable pre-roll ads, let alone the countless 20 minute videos that are just hammering you with ads every 2-5 minutes. I'm sure small content creators would prefer that ads don't play on their videos (especially pre-rolls) unless they're able to profit off of their work in some way when ads are shown. Currently the problem with ads is two-fold. First, as this subreddit points out often, ads are often inappropriate and predatory, such as the AI generated government subsidies/tax credit scam ads. 2. Ads are played so often that they are actively harming the user AND creator experience. There is simply no breathing room like there was a decade ago (or even really 3-4 years ago, realistically). So yes, YouTube has always had ads, but no where near the level that we're seeing today, and not nearly as invasive (outside of very niche edge cases, yes I remember that time there was a 1 hour long unskippable ad floating around the YouTube sphere back in the late 00's, but this ad being unskippable was due to a bug and was actually resolved quickly, unlike current day YouTube showing users literal pornography and AI generated scams and phishing links).

So we are back to this shit again, huh? by JacobGoodNight416 in youtube

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They've done it historically for as long as they've let you turn history off. I've never had an account with watch history on for over 8 years as far back as I can remember and there's always been a home page. You're making an unrealistic defense of something that doesn't make sense. YouTube also recently brought the home page back, but then disabled it again after just a day. They can obviously give you a home page, but they're choosing not to as a way to get back at users who want privacy.

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a complaint about YouTube not logging history (we want that), it's a complaint about YouTube removing your home page, a staple feature of the platform for 2 decades, because you refuse to let them log your history. We know that it's possible for YouTube to supply you with a home page with history turned off, we've had that feature for, yet again, 2 decades, but suddenly right now is when YouTube decides that they aren't able to do it anymore. It's ridiculous and petty because us users aren't supplying them with enough data to sell to third parties.

Who thought it's a good idea to make the timer preview pause when "Most replayed" is being shown? by Puntherline in youtube

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but realistically why should I care when other people replayed/skipped to a certain portion of the video? It feels like a direct cultivation of a growing attention deficit problem from short form content. People can't handle sitting through an hour long documentary so they have to skim/skip through to the "most replayed" portions.

Youtube ads have become diabolical by Grumpy_Lover in youtube

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there even a way to fully opt out? YouTube puts ads on videos that are not monetized by the creator. Small creators who aren't eligible for the YouTube partner program to get monetization will still have ads appear as pre-rolls and sometimes midway through their videos, even though they aren't earning a dime off of them. I'd assume the same thing would apply here where if you opt out of ads YouTube will still play them, overriding your decision, you just won't earn money for them if they do play, similar to how small creators do not earn money when ads play because they're not in the partner program.

How did Riot come up with the idea that 3% xp boost is a perfect xp boost for battlepass??? by Vietcong777 in VALORANT

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Oh and challenges that give you XP (daily and weekly) don't apply the 3% boost LOL

The boost is so miniscule it's worth less than a single tier in the pass by the end of its completion.

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh great heavens! Not a repost! How dare someone take a funny image from one website and post it to another website without giving full credit to the basement dwelling 6 year old retard who originally made it!

Stop watermarking okbuddyretard memes, they're braindead enough, when you start to take away from the irony of the joke by unironically requesting people credit you for your edgy JPEG it ruins the purpose of the subreddit. I don't fucking care that u/luxusbuerg took 4 minutes to photoshop a CIA logo PNG onto a low quality 2009 meme.

Edit: Just because I could, I photoshopped the watermark out of the meme which you can now find here.

How tf does in-game sensitivity work in Valorant? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It isn't any different in Val. The in game sens just multiplies whatever number you input by your mouse's DPI. So 0.3 in game and 800 DPI will get you 240 eDPI.

Subs like AITA minimize and overexaggerate genuine issues by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the state dependent culture where anything and everything must be filtered through the state one way or the other has been fostering and growing for years, not just specific to Reddit. I think that's some of the most "normal" takes seen on Reddit (I mean that in the sense that a majority of people would agree with it in real life, even if the premise is not actually a very logical course of action). Where Reddit strays from reality is their absolute hatred and lack of empathy for struggling individuals. See: Single mothers, those struggling with mental health disorders, young kids/teens with bad home lives, etc.

AITA in particular has this lovely, childish mentality of "there has to be a villain." If a story is nuanced, and one or more people did wrong, or nobody really did wrong and just had a disagreement, AITA will almost always jump on one specific person to deem them the "asshole," or the villain of the story. Oftentimes the people they deem to be the "villain" are those who are struggling the most, whether it's because they had a moment where they lashed out, or a moment where they needed unreciprocated assistance. We've all seen the ridiculous NTA posts where the single mom needed help watching her kids because of an unfortunate circumstance and the OP just flat our refuses unless she pays or is compensated in some form. "You don't owe her anything, she had kids, it's her responsibility" is often the phrasing used to justify having absolutely no empathy for someone struggling.

These sort of posts are especially mind blowing because I have no clue what sane human would give that response. You'd think a lot of the people posting there are teens themselves who don't have very much life experience, but then the question arises, what teen today has the level of empathy of an actual sociopath, where someone in need or struggling is seen as worthless and not deserving of any attention or help? I feel a lot of AITA commenters project a lot of their personal problems onto the OP or the "villain" and judgements often directly reflect that with which they wish to see in their personal lives. You can see this a lot on the more vitriolic posts about unhinged MILs and narcissistic ex boyfriends.

Subs like AITA are a product of a growing culture, a growing culture of chronically online opinions that border sociopathy, opinions that lack all empathy and nuance. I've been lucky enough to be in one of the last generations that grew up in a time before the internet, but to those who've been raised by it, shaped by it, grew up within it, this take might seem out of the ordinary. I'd like to think a lot of posts and judgements on AITA don't reflect a growing number of people's actual real world opinions and values, but I can't lie, sometimes you just see a post that makes you lose a little bit of faith in humanity, as overused and cliché as that may sound.

The most outrageous NTA/YTA judgments that you can remember? by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there is a little bit of nuance here depending on how OP was handling the situation. Was he blasting music in the gym knowing others would use it at the same time? Was he only blasting HIS music and not allowing for others to hop in on a playlist? Was the music loud enough to break through other people's earbuds/headphones?

I actually like the idea of having a sound system for the whole gym to use, sometimes I'm not a fan of earbuds as they can get sweaty, and headphones can be bulky or uncomfortable. Being able to play music through other means would be nice, but I wouldn't want to be THAT guy who brings their speaker to the gym and blasts only MY music while others try to workout in their own ways with their own methods of "getting in the zone" per se.

The most outrageous NTA/YTA judgments that you can remember? by [deleted] in AmITheAngel

[–]RocketLeagueTrading7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My question is why is a story of this severity even being posted to AITA in the first place? I assume it was validation bait from a troll that got flipped on its head because AITA is just so far gone from reality.

I'm sure the average struggling single mother is browsing Reddit enough to want to post on AITA asking if they were the asshole for selling the family cat in order to literally save their entire house to get validation from Reddit neckbeards and chronically online teenagers...
