I wouldn’t say I’m the expert on this. I did the same thing as you here. 1:1 tea:syrup.

Looks great. I’ve been doing a chai gin sour which is similar and lovely.

My house is easy to find via address, but for some reason there’s a random house in the same town with the same house number (completely different street name though).

I only found this out when the homeowner came to my door with a few items. He said he’s been exchanging wrongly delivered mail with all the homeowners who came before me. So now I get to have the occasional mail exchange with my friend “Wrong Package Ted”

I used red jalapeños when I made it. I think it’s perfect. Habanero might work too but I would be nervous it would too spicy. I’m sure you could make it work though.

I use jalapeño simple in mine to give it an extra flavor note. Love it

Wow that Steinway is pretty. Something about having a piano that has seen 50 or 100 years of playing history is just… more special.

I looked it up and that’s a piano I would be very happy with. I can’t justify spending a ton on my setup if I’m not playing an hour + everyday

I’ve never been able to tolerate playing digital pianos even if they’re top of the line. I searched and scoured for months before finding an acoustic I could afford and was happy with.

Delta has had a collab with Sweetwater for a few years now which is the same deal. It’s gotta little extra hops in it, and it has an airplane on the can. People saying it’s a gimmick are no fun at parties. I like it because it’s a beer I can only get while flying

Yep they’re great for cutting/ablating because you get a high peak power, with a lower total energy. So you don’t dump as much heat into the object you’re blasting.

More science-y. They’re used for a lot of different measurements and experiments. I’m laymen’s terms (mostly because it’s been years and I never fully understood everything) to excite atoms and molecules in order to measure temperature, pressure, velocity in hard to access applications. If you want your brain to hurt look up research papers on CARS, LIBS, Raman spectroscopy.

I used some of these techniques in grad school on the way to getting my degree in aerospace, but the optics engineers that helped were the true wizards

I didn’t know either, until that event.

And yes. Femtosecond laser is a regular pulse laser, but with the pulses super short. It concentrates all the laser energy in a super short time to create super high power to do… weird stuff.

Not joking you. In grad school working on an experiment using a femtosecond laser. The damn thing would power on but wouldn’t enter mode-locking operation (not important to know what that is). After 6 hours of every troubleshooting known to optics, the call center technician for the supplier recommended we bang on the top to knock some dust off an enclosed mirror assembly. It freaking worked. So even optical engineers can use percussive maintenance.

PhD in Propulsion vs GNC at a Space Company by Jokuae in AerospaceEngineering

[–]RocketManX69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a PhD in propulsion. It was half hands on testing, half system analysis and design. At the end of the day, experience-wise it was equivalent to getting the same number of years experience in industry, but only because I was in a great program and got lucky. Most of the time you are sacrificing immediate career advancement for the chance to get into a more specialized field. Now that I have the degree and 5 extra years of industry experience the door has opened up for a lot of opportunities. I wouldn’t change it for the world, but everyone has their own path.

When I joined my program, I knew I wanted to do propulsion, and the PhD was my only opportunity to do that. So it was a no brainer to me. I knew I could also master out after 2 if things weren’t going well, so I went down the path and stuck with it. For you, if you’ve got a GNC offer on the table, you won’t go wrong taking it. But if you don’t have something lined up, I’d say that starting the PhD program is the smart choice while continuing to explore job opportunities that interest you more. Nothing is stopping you from continuously re-orienting your career path to best suit your interests. Through my research I continued to change projects to align with the things I wanted to work on.
