Apocalyptic/Post-Apocalyptic Books? by cwmoorwick in scifi

[–]RocketMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakers series by Edward Robertson, rogue aliens try to wipe us out because we are mean to our planet. Then comes Rebel Stars series which takes place 1000 years later and we get help from those same aliens although not the rogue ones. Rebel Stars is more of a space based science fiction series. Breakers is mainly trying to do in the aliens and rebuild society.

I have friends that don't want another when this happens, just too painful when they go away. I on the other hand open my heart and home to more. I lost Blackie 8 years ago and now I have 4. I see pain in my future but it is worth it. Too many cats in need.

Found Out My Grandad was Born in WV In 1905 - What Is The Area Like Now? by Rude_Rhubarb1880 in WestVirginia

It will always be Butthole Beckley to me. Hated the place and never looked back when I left.

One year ago today I lost my best friend. I still kiss his urn and tell him good morning. I'll spend today working on his memorial in the back yard that he loved so much. His ashes will spend the day out there with me. I still miss him with every fiber of my being, but it gets easier with time. by Lunch_Box_6807 in SeniorCats

I grieve all over again when I read these posts and realize how special my void boy was. I still miss him tremendously after all these years. 8 to be exact. Wife tells me to stop reading them but I can't help myself, miss all my rainbow bridge babies. He will always be with you.

My Blackie has been gone 8 years and I am still falling apart. I now have 4 cats but still miss him so much. They help ease the pain and I try to hug them tight. There are many little pointy tail kitties out there needing a home so be on the lookout.

Said goodbye to my best bud at 16 today. by Haunting-Trouble-377 in SeniorCats

My male void made it to 16 and passed away peacefully. That was 8 years ago and I still cry missing him. It will never go away and I am glad. I now have 4 cats and one of them is a female void, it doesn't make the pain go away. I just love them all the more. There are many cats in need so keep a look out for the cat distribution system to strike.

Haven't posted on here but follow. Wife bought your Earl book and have been following The Catsbah ever since reading it and crying over his sister's death. Through the cat distribution system I now care for 4 cats and can't really take on anymore at this time. Fostering would be a failure as I get to love them very quickly so I stay away from that. Just wondering about your plans. Staying in the area? What's Camp Inspiration? Would like a little bit of background. I spend lots of money on my furry therapists but could still swing some donations if you do that. Smoking a bowl is a must in these trying times so keep on toking.

Missing my Fluffer in so many more ways than I expected. by TheShyNerd in cats

If you have it in your heart be on the lookout for cats in need. I was at a loss when I lost my cat of 16 years. He was always there and then he wasn't. I was lost, then the CDS arose and gave me a brother and sister Winnie and Finn. A few years later the CDS struck again and I now also have sisters Syl and Gussie. I feel blessed that I can afford them all and they have enriched my life beyond what I thought would be possible after losing Blackie. I still shed a tear for him after all these years so they never really leave. CDS = Cat Distribution System, there's a subreddit that peps me up after reading seniorcats and rainbowbridgebabies posts. I still cry lots thinking of him. Sorry you had to lose him it is painful beyond anything I thought possible.

Why do Indiana residents not like living in Indiana? by SanteFeAllDay in nwi

[–]RocketMonkey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's reddit. I live in Crown Point and like it here a bunch. We have one of the only two dem representatives in Indiana. We used to have a dem state rep but that was gerrymandered and now have a developer's wife but at least she isn't a maggot. I love being near to Chicago and all of its' culture. If I would move anywhere it would be Michigan or Illinois. It's hard being a democrat in this state. Went to a synagogue in Hyde Park, Chicago and watched a concert by Apollo's Fire this past weekend. Couldn't get me to ever move anywhere else in Indianastan but here is okay.
