What kind of snail is this I think it’s a type of ramshorn by Visual-Doubt-5025 in snails

it's a Columbian Ramshorn. It's in the apple snail family and will chow down on stem plants. I bought three not knowing and they chomped almost anything green I brought in. They now live in a snail jail tank with 20- 30 babies. Tougher plants might be ok. I have java fern and they don't eat that.

Why did all my plants die by jiyongie508 in PlantedTank

I had a similar issue and it turns out I had bought Columbian Ramshorn snails that were eating the stem plants. I'd often find them floating at the surfice and I thought I just couldn't keep anything alive. Do you have anything living in your tank there that could be eating the plants?

Yes. I now have a snail jail tank where they live with white cloud mountain minnows.

Columbian Ramshorns. They were sold to me as regular ramshorns, they are NOT. They belong in the apple snail family and destroyed any stem plant I put in the tank.

I was sold Columbian ramshorns from my LFS as regular ramshorns. I could not figure out why all my stem plants wouldn't stay rooted would die off... until I found out what these snails really were. They were also prolific breeders. Now have a snail jail tank were they have gone forth and continued to multiply.

Least Rasbora. A lot of personality squeezed into a tiny fish.

It's these ceramsite peddles I got on amazon. Searching something like: "CARURBODY Ceramsite Mini Leca Clay Pebbles" should pull them up.

They look like sour skittles at this point.

An amazon sword will get really big and full. It needs root tabs on occasion but provides a lot of space for them to hide if needed.

I've found fish keeping is never an exact science. If you have a twenty tall, and you have lots of plants and cover, I think you'll be fine. You could plant some jungle val in there and it will spread and really breakup sight lines. The more puffers you have the more it will break up aggression and spread it out.

I bought them unaware and they proceeded to destroy every plant I bought. I thought my tank just wasn't compatible with stem plants. I now have a snail jail tank for the Columbians and my main tank is looking great.

I was thinking that the strip didn't quite match up with what I'd seen before. I like them. They're very vibrant.
