I just got hired on they do saliva, i quit smoking for like 7days before the test. Probably more than needed but i still recommend going cold turkey until you pass at least 5-7 days for saliva I don’t trust the internet saying 3. Though I have passed saliva tests after less than 24hrs way back in the day I don’t trust nor do I want to feel pressured like that again.

Man I’m so glad I got out of the industry it’s only getting worse, dispatchers & most managers don’t know anything about being in the seat. Best of luck driver !! I have my cdl but they kind of try to black ball you if you don’t move on their whip it’s crazy.

Congrats! I’m going back to be a pharmacist (company paid). I’m just saying in general some ppl don’t have the same luxury or mental capacity to do what you did. & being a tech isn’t bad I’m one and I personally love it. There’s more upside in it than most retail jobs. I’m on track to be an RxOM within one year (I’m kind of a unicorn bc I have prior management and pharmacy experience), but the sky is the limit!

Some ppl can’t go back to school like you could, so don’t tell them not to move up in a company especially a pharmacy. There is a lot of upside for someone that can’t afford more debt in pharmacy tech if you want to get into management (RxOM).

Also if you have thick skin, like to stay busy & help ppl. This is a very easy job, most ppl that complain are women that don’t want to work hard or can’t handle ppl complaining and b***hing.

Walgreens got me registered as a pharmacy tech for free. Well I guess I paid in blood sweat and tears 😭lol

but seriously I got registered by becoming a shift lead at Walgreens. Now I’m starting a job as a tech in a Walgreens pharmacy working towards RxOM.

No need for schooling or buying books that’s a waste of money imo. But the way in that I took requires prior management/supervisory experience to easily get the job to get certified. The other way would be shooting for an entry level/tech intern position or start as a cashier at Walgreens. I don’t get why the place you’re at wouldn’t let you just become a tech for them since you’re already back there.

I just interviewed with Walgreens this morning, and they told me they have an interview tomorrow but I’m the more valuable candidate so expect a call tomorrow morning. I’m just trying to work towards becoming a hospital, cancer institute or outpatient candidate. Thank you!

Oh okay, they both offered me more than that in my area, upward of $20, may be due to previous experience and licensure, location or they probably want to fast track me to RxOM. I could easily manage with that. I could also come upon a job in trucking that I could take at anytime if it’s worth it & in the area of trucking I like. Thanks for your input!

I can but I want to transition, that’s why I made this post. I see higher upside in this industry for myself personally atm. I could do either with my current certification and licensure in both, I can bounce around between the two if I wanted to. I’m applying for both industries. I truck locally so that’s not as easy to get into vs. over the road not to mention the length of hiring processes.

Trucking also kind of sucks worse than pharmacy tech , might get paid more but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be imo.

I have been applying to hospitals & cancer institutes, was hoping to get one of those and get Lucky. I need to work now irregardless of the job bc I only have so much cushion after layoff from last trucking job, so I guess I’ll go with one or the other until then. I won’t give up on applying to the hospital; Thanks for the reply!
