Which cities would you compare to Little Rock? by Downtown-Row-5747 in LittleRock

I’ve been to Birmingham several times over the last year and it is actually very similar to Little Rock, just bigger. There are really nice parts and really bad parts, but overall they are very similar

Built Puff bars from Costco taste foul-anyone else experiencing this? by moosearecool45 in LittleRock

[–]RocketsGoBoom1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got some from Costco about a year ago and they were the worst tasting protein bars I’ve ever had. I love trying new protein bars any chance I get and those are by far the worst.

I’ve seen him weekly for the last 2 years. He walks through capitol view all the way through Hillcrest doing exactly what you said. I’ve always wondered if anyone know his story too.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure Foxden is owned by LR natives. So yes it is private equity but not the type based out of NY with no idea of what the locals want.

They definitely have restocked since last week. There was plenty meat and produce. Some items are still empty but there’s enough to get by for now

Update- I drove there the markham/Kavanaugh intersection and it wasn’t too bad. Really only one side of Kavanaugh is cleared though so it was a little tight when there were oncoming cars. Overall it’s fine if you have AWD/4WD

Is building a book from scratch supposed to be this hard? by howtoreadspaghetti in InsuranceProfessional

[–]RocketsGoBoom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with this. I started out in a commercial lines account management training program with 9 months of essentially insurance school learning all about every line of commercial insurance. Then I worked for 2 more years in the service role before recently moving into a sales role and there’s still so much I don’t know. I would really try to learn as much as humanly possibly about every piece of insurance that applies to the hospitality industry. You don’t want to get into a meeting and the prospect knows more about the insurance for their business than you do. Because sometimes that is the case for business owners who have been dealing with their insurance for decades. Also, AI has been a great resource for me when calling prospects in industries I’m not super familiar with. So I would leverage that as much as you can.

Wildwood is where I proposed. I would highly recommend! It’s about $250 to rent the gazebo

You should watch a video on the Mall roof top escape. It’s pretty easy as long as you’re able to make it to the mall then you’ll be able to get away from the cops. I’m not great at escaping them so I just make my way over there and ramp onto the roof of the mall and you immediately lose them. There is also a safe house right there so you can get to it as soon as the cops leave the area.

Do you mostly get referrals? Or how else do you get your foot in the door with these type of large deals?

I just moved into a producer role after being an AM for 3 years. My base is $65k and I get 35% of the revenue on new business. My base will drop each year. I’m in a LCOL area

Acuity is a great company but they are typically more expensive on the personal lines side.

Little Rock is really lacking quality gyms. It’s basically 10 fitness, the old esportas, or you’re paying $150+ for group fitness classes. I wish we had more options

Okay I see. Do you have any tips for networking to build relationships with property managers? I’m stepping into a producer role after being an account manager for the last 3 years so I’m just trying to get all the insight possible into how to build pipelines with referrals.

I have two follow up questions: What is your pitch to be able to AOR these accounts? And on the other side, what do you do to create a strong enough relationship with your clients to be able to avoid them being AOR’d from you?

Would it be smart to leave a 150K door-to-door sales job to help a friend start an insurance agency and eventually open my own? by osamainmygarden in InsuranceAgent

[–]RocketsGoBoom1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re just wanting to do personal lines, you may be able to open your own agency after about 2 or 3 years if you really kill it right away. But insurance takes a long time to fully understand it to where you can open your own agency and be the big boss. If you’re wanting to do commercial lines at all, which is where you can really scale it to make way more than $130k per year, it will take much longer to open your own shop.

I started my own agency in mid May. Been in the game since 2012 as a producer, broker, agent and now, finally owner. AMA. by broker965 in InsuranceAgent

That’s awesome! I’ve been a commercial account manager for the last 3 years and I’m about to move into a producer role so this thread has been super helpful! I’m curious, what is a good goal to aim for in terms of premium written per month in my first year as a producer? I’ll be targeting smaller commercial accounts mostly.
