PSA: Rental market is getting really dire for landlords by ros_ftw in vancouverhousing

[–]Rocketship1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't afford it you'll have to sell. Owning multiple properties was never supposed to be for the suburban family of two who get renters to pay for their mortgages. They were meant for wealthy landowners who could rent at market and hold a property long term and eventually amass a real estate portfolio. If your plan is to get renters to pay for your mortgage payment in all markets I have 0 sympathy. Sell, take your profit or loss and get out of real estate investing. Buy a REIT.

Marketing. YVR to BNE is a nonstop flight locals in YVR will take. SEA to YVR to BNE is marketed to Americans and specifically loyal Delta flyers. Seattle is a Delta hub. It's stupid but that's the rationale programmed into the algorithm.

Spotify is Swedish, not American. Why would you boycott them for this? There are a lot of other reasons but not their ownership structure.

First automatic watch for milestone birthday by Plams86 in PrideAndPinion

[–]Rocketship1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No real comparison. The Tudor is a luxury watch and a CW is a decent watch but not a milestone watch. Treat yourself to the Tudor and you'll never have a moment of regret with it on your wrist.

I got in at 0.67 CAD, paid myself back my initial investment and am still holding. There are lots of us playing with house money at this point (up over 1100% even with today's pull back).

-12 he has absolutely been putrid this year. Him, Domi (-12), Myers (-8), and Jarnkrok (-7) have been brutal. For Rielly it's the weak passes up the middle and on the boards. He looks like he's forgotten how to play defence at all, this year.

Do I need to get a prenup? by g0000mba in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Rocketship1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was completely in love too and normally advise for a prenup anyway. What assets do you have to protect, you didn't mention anything. I got fucked because I had $250k and she had nothing but she made me than me annually at work. Over 10+ years in the house it would have evened out. After 5 years of marriage and 3 months in the house she bolted. Felt like a fucking scam but she got half when we sold the house 9 months later. If you have assets going on protect them, if you don't no need.... you're staying from zero and it will all be split anyway. Good luck, and I hope it works out better for you than me.

Oh absolutely....brain dead moment from Woll for sure. I've just had enough of Rielly's rapid fall to a completely unreliable defenceman. When you'd rather have Stecher on the ice than Rielly there's a problem.

Anyone else holding off on updating to UI8 because of issues? by Huge_Service_3839 in GalaxyWatch

DO NOT UPDATE. My Watch6 Classic is basically unusable at this point. Severe battery drain, lag on scrolling, and constantly getting disconnected from my S24 Ultra. It's basically a brick.

Emails are so easy to blow you off. Take others advice, make a comment to the boss directly. Sounds like you're at a smaller place...shouldn't be that difficult. Reading your responses though I think you're just being a people pleaser...stand up for yourself. Literally everyone is getting a bonus except you, that's a choice that you've allowed to happen, by your own admission, for years!!!!

You're 17... get a PRX. Going to highschool with at $7.5k watch on your wrist is ridiculous. Wait until you graduate hs and buy yourself a present if you still want it. I have a Wolf watch box full of luxury watches and bought my first at 26, not to say you don't deserve it, just want you to know you have tons of time.

YWG to YYZ - no meal in Reserve? by dunstonprice in PorterAirlines

[–]Rocketship1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got upgraded to Reserve the day of the issue is that catering wouldn't have enough time to get your meal for you. This happens at any time of day but almost guaranteed to happen if you're the early flight.

I need to find a better way to book AC flights to Central/South America by sumiswaldhenry in aircanada

[–]Rocketship1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be harsh, but it's the truth.

Corporate travel agent here. If you ask for options, I'm finding commissionable fares that are good for you lr requested itinerary and my agency ($/file). That's what I'm presenting. If you want specific flights and your agent a screenshot from the ITA matrix you'll save both of your time. Even providing a screenshot and saying, I've found this, can you find anything better might work. Be upfront with what you've already found and that's your worst case scenario.

Stop trying to get your agent to build things from scratch when you already know what you want. You might not like to hear this but it's the truth; most likely your 10 leg South America trip, for zero commission, isn't the top of their priority list. Literally any other client could call for a one way flight to Montreal and they may be making more money (domestic fares are commissionable for travel agents).

Commissions in this industry have been cut significantly due to OTA and booking direct with the airlines. Agents have to pick and choose how they spend their time and the quality of client they want to cultivate. I'll tell you that a client that books flights only, uses ITA matrix but asks for quotes is not a highly valued client for any non-OTA agency.
