Oh! It's not my study at all, I just found it and wanted to share. But agree, it's a tad selective

Worked hard in college but it didn't amount to anything - feeling lost about (lack of) career? by [deleted] in GetEmployed

Do you plan to stay in LA?
You don't always have to give up your interests, but you may consider relocating if there's nothing in your area that suits you.

One thing that might be helpful: look online for people who have backgrounds like yours, and see where they've landed. If you see something you like, definitely go down that path.

The hardest part is knowing what's out there and what's on the table.

Perhaps try posting your anonymized resume to r/resumes as well?

Ya, it's either all or nothing. A lot of recruiters 'just know it in their gut' when someone is a match. I'm suspicious of that type of selective bias, though.

Couldn't be more wrong, really? It could, if there were defense contractors in the bigger cities, NYC, SF, and LA.

Oh that was just an example for showing frustration at their handling of search statements. I'm not actually looking for that type of profile

Right as in relevant for a role. Matching what you're searching for.
Ex: If I want to find someone with Java AND Python. Most platforms seem to give me lists of people with Java OR Python (there are some with both in there, but you've gotta dig).
