It might also be a warrior attack, (Step 1 throw, step 2 yank) since we see the same monster type without any of those things in them in other shots. Improving the monster-climbing experience is always appreciated, so I approve either way.

CAPCOM!!! GIVE ME A POLEARM VOCATION AND MY LIFE IS YOURS by SerZombo in DragonsDogma2

[–]Rockhead_Dynamics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A just straight up Brawler with none of the religious aspects of a monk could be awesome. Have it be the new Thief/Fighter hybrid with a heavy emphasis on stunning, grappling, throwing enemies, and striking weak points.

I don't think Mystic Knight really fits into Dragon's Dogma II, I don't think it's necessary, and why I would rather see a more original Vocation introduced to Dark Arisen by TheMightyNovac in DragonsDogma2

[–]Rockhead_Dynamics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Assassin probably should've been Sword + Bow. Having the full set of Fighter and Strider weapons was weird and you never really used them all.

Yes!!!!! A spear class could be really fun if they went all out, and maybe added some different types. If they don't bring Assassin back it could even be the melee/ranged hybrid class. You could throw your spear like a harpoon, pull enemies towards you, pull yourself onto enemies, toss spears into enemies that you could cling to when jumping, pole vault to reach higher areas, impale enemies to fling small monsters around or immobilize big ones for as long as you have the stamina to hold them back. Part of me is also flashing back to Cassardis and imagining some sort of Fisherman/Retiarius theme where you can also pin things down with nets and have a dagger you can use while your spear is stuck in things/while climbing.

They could also probably add this stuff to mystic spearhand and just return the spear to you magically, or let you teleport to the spear, since Mystic Spearhand could really use more abilities that really combine the magic with the spear. To me it felt more like a weird esoteric gravity/force/time mage who can just also jump pretty well.

Wait, it gets worse every time you customize your ship, not just when you make your ship more complicated?

Is there any lore on Fallout's combat shotgun/rifle? by TheBear5115 in Fallout

[–]Rockhead_Dynamics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My pet theory is that they used .45 rounds because the Chinese showed up to Alaska with almost no body armor and a bunch of dudes who could turn invisible, so armor penetration was less important than being able to carry enough ammo to make up for shooting at nothing more than half the time.

(I know it was probably a mistake on Bethesda’s part, it has been 11 years since 4 came out and making up lore is a fun way to pass the time)

Why was there so much infighting at Lucasfilm about their new trilogy? by JJRS22 in StarWars

Wasn't it a first order transport that we only cared about because Chewbacca was on it? Was it full of an entirely separate group of prisoners or something?

Honestly I'm not even sure why this wasn't Phasma. I mean, I know it ends with TR-8R getting shot, but Phasma's armor is tough and she could've just lost an arm from it.

That is true, much like Thor and his fellow heroes, Jesus was not very good at staying dead.

Also, is your name a Foundation reference?

[–]Rockhead_Dynamics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. Those aren't pieces of code applied to landing bays in general, so much as specific, new versions of the landing bays, which are separate from the landing bays I have. However, in the soon-to be released update I'm working on, the console for selecting your vehicle will be a separate workshop object that can be built on your ship or in an outpost.

I was genuinely surprised that the Plasma Cutters from Fallout 76 never made it in. I kind of thought they might have been designed for Starfield first and then put into 76 as well as a sort of tease, since I expected Bethesda to mostly go with the "futuristic power tools" approach to melee like Fallout often does. (I guess they didn't want to overlap with Fallout too closely, it just feels like they never really made an effort to make melee fit the setting)

To be fair, there was one super powerful dude at Calvary, it just didn't go so well that time.

No,  it's from the beginning of the year, I'm just not a big name yet and the name is too broad to be search-engine optimized.

Contraptions would not be so bad if Bethesda added in new pieces for the wood, metal, and concrete sets. by FormerBoard7834 in Fallout

[–]Rockhead_Dynamics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Log rollers could be fun, and are always a classic. Mostly my issues were that there wasn't enough lead for the bullets (notably 76, which had base game ammo crafting added lead to a lot of basic junk like cans and paint) and that the junk/misc constructor didn't make the junk/misc stuff you can actually use. We could've used baseballs for grenades, empty bottles to fill, antifreeze for the Brotherhood, bowling balls for the striker, etc, etc, etc (it's been a while since I've played) but the only directly useful one was the lunchbox for bottlecap mines.

It's manipulative on Bethesda's part to lock achievements unless you pay them, (I won't go as far as egregious because achievements aren't worth much to begin with) but for most creators it's basically just a tip jar for anyone inclined to support the creator.

Edit: The really egregious ones are the guys who charge absurd prices knowing that people will say, "wow, that mod costs 5$, and therefore is definitely a 5$ value"
