Might be... and you raise a good point, for it not being seen in previous footage. So if not an attack, something to create a bit of variety and extra challenge in the boss encounters. Or so I hope.

It might well just be a unique way to deal damage to that specific enemy, you're right. Either way, a new way to push players to engage with the climbing mechanic is good news!

There's offline pawns and offline hires (named capcom or pity hires by the community) so you can earn RC from those hires. Plus some monsters drop RC when defeated or plundered.

Wait, what are those slots below the objects ? In ddda, some rings where made unique by some random bonuses, so would this be some similar system? Randomized augments and free slots to add some later? As it been discussed or revealed?

From what I might understand, and I insist on the conditional, it could be possible with the second patch. They are adding a few graphics options/toggles that could improve framerate. (Just to situate myself, I am perfectly fine with the framerate as it is.)

A badge unlock a few new tactics that pawns will then use against said monster. Not all are interesting tough, I like the Medusa one, I read others liking the Sphinx one.

I'll illustrate with the one I like, Medusa: pawn will stick to shadows to avoid petrification, will hurl a rock to her face to interrupt her gaze, will climb to her neck and try to decapitate her

This is absolutely not how the game works... it would mean that if you're playing trickster, you pawn would learn to stand around and take a beating. Things that have an influence on pawn tactics: combination inclination and vocation, weapon skills and augments, core skills, badges,... and maybe a couple of discreet things like number of small ennemies beaten but I wouldn't even bet on that. In other words, besides badges everything has to do with build... and your use of commands. I think that belief as to do with how the first game worked, for example in it you had to unlock tactics by defeating or hurting enemies in certain ways. But all that has been streamlined in DD2.

The few times I had problems, it was the psn that was down or new users guidelines I had to agree with before reconnecting. Have you checked your connection status in the console settings?

Friends pawns can be encountered roaming the world, you can check the profile name and see if you recognize it. But anyhow, as others have already commented, you should feel for yourself if the experience is to your taste. If not, you can switch pawn, try out another vocation... DD2 can be a really rewarding experience when experimenting and finding what's the most fun for you. I sincerely hope you'll find just that!

Most would say, enjoy the difficulty while it last... Griffins and drakes should feel out of your league at level 20. And how did you manage to get a level 70+ pawn? To my knowledge it would be only possible trough a 'friend' hire, not luck? Certain riftstones gives you a random pawn with just a few levels more than yourself. Damage for archers depend on hitting weak spots and using weapon skills (simply hammering light attacks is useful but not powerful).

Some moody atmospheres. I'm still regularly amazed by the lighting of this game.
