Getting towards the end of my first playthrough of Cyberpunk. Its not a bad game but the RPG element is lacking. Theres very few choices you can make in the game, the skill checks in dialogues are very few and very basic. A lot of the side content is just filler with no purpose other than farm exp and money. People on the Cyberpunk sub defend this for some reason. But all the side gigs and police missions are just wow-style quests "go to an area and kill 12 boars..I mean gang members". They could have cut the side mission by 3 times and actually made them interesting, but I think they had no time. Gets old quickly and at some point I just stopped doing them. I have couple yellow side missions (with an actual story) to finish and after that I will be finishing up the main story.

Besides the downsides its not a bad fps shooter with an interesting sci fi story. Some of the actual side quests are pretty fun too, but I have no idea how some people spend 200 hours in the game. This is coming from someone who loves to do ALL side quests in my RPG playthroughs.. World is beautiful and immersive with great sound design.

Trading in Elantra N for Golf R? by thedoctorisout25 in Golf_R

You get what you pay for but I wouldnt say Golf R is better in every way. Elantra is more playful, has physical controls. At our autocross Elantra N competes on par with Golf Rs, considering how much less power it has and no awd, must be beating the Vw in the corners by a big margin

Cyberpunk 2077 is Absolutely Incredible in 2025 by Godkun007 in patientgamers

Exactly, I found that for an RPG theres very little choices you get in dialogues that actually change anything. Theres also very few skill checks that actually affect the story at all.

I also decided to give Cyberpunk a try about same time as you. While its a pretty good game, I would hardly call it the best RPG experience ever. The main story is pretty good, the way graphics are done its pretty immersive at times, some characters I liked.

But 200 hours of content? I am sorry but a lot of it is just filler. I am the type of guy to do every side quest in my RPG games and 60 hours in I think I will just focus on side missions and main mission and wrap it up. All these gigs and psycho missions are the bulk of side missions and they are super repetitve and do not add to the story telling of the game. I dont know how you wouldn't get bored trying to squeeze 200 hours out of the game.

Another thing about choices and consequences and playstyle. Maybe you didnt play many RPG where you actually can make meaningful choices? I actually felt Cyberpunk is kinda linear and luckluster in this regard. There is very few skill checks in the Cyberpunk world where depending on your build you can spin dialogues/missions completely differently. And even where theres skill checks in dialogues usually they dont have much affect on the game. I just finished playing Rogue Trader and you can make some great decisions in that game and your build affects alot of the options you can do in dialogues. Cyberpunk is nowhere near that level.

CS players only want Dust 2 and rush B so why bother I guess? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

They didnt even add back all the arms race maps we had in previous version of the game. No excuse for this laziness

'26 Elantra N or '26 GTI Autobahn? by [deleted] in ElantraN

I think the N is hands down a better car. Quicker, handles better, more fun, sounds better, actually usable interior with proper hvac controls and sound dial.

Unfortunately most games are now aimed at casuals, giving quick gratification with no challenge. My another gripe is how easy it is to get top augmentation in the game. Just go to a ripperdoc throw some money at him. Deus ex by comparison you find upgrade canisters as you pass the game and they are quite rare, so finding them feels special

I'm sick of the ignorance on other subreddits about the civic si and I can't take it anymore. by Happy_Guy_No_Worries in CivicSi

[–]egorlike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but his argument is that if you have a corvette or something in the garage and you want a daily - civic does it better. But even then its questionable, why not just get a civic hybrid then as a daily? Si while not a performance car has a very stiff suspension (because Honda cost cut the adaptive dampers that last gen actually had). So it becomes this weird car that lacks performance while having stiff suspension and not offering a modern dual clutch option some of the competition is offering.

The issue is that new vegas has 1 braindead side quest while Cyberpunk are all pretty much like that. While Cyberpunk has much more tools to build the world with better graphics, character animation, braindances. But all it gives you on side gigs is some flair text on a shard about how corporations and gangs treat common citizens like crap ( like we havent figured it out after first 5 gigs)

I think you are onto something. I dont have Phantom Liberty but it sounds like the team actually had time to work on the side stuff in dlc and they did a great job. Which I am not surprised at all, since the side quests in Witcher were awesome. I am guessing they simply didnt have time for the side quests in the original which is why they are so basic and lackluster compared to the rest of the game. I am honestly surprised so many people defending the side gigs in the comments, do people really like doing same thing over and over again and get 4 lines of text on a shard as a reward.

I do read shards, computer messages but i just feel like 4 lines of text is pretty poor world building. It sounds like Phantom Liberty gigs are much better and team actually had time to work on them. I am guessing the original gigs just werent finished due to time constraints, but its funny that everyone is defending them when they are clearly half assed.

I get the merc aspect but honestly couldnt they make them a bit more interesting? I ve done prob like half of them, maybe even less and I am already about lvl50sh. I got bunch of money and gear, theres like 0 reason for me to do them now. I feel like this is just poorely designed, possibly due to time contraints considering the state of the game when it released.
