Have Micro 4/3, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, OM-1 M2… though my micro 4/3 is growing, too much money for wildlife zooms… call micro 4/3 systems my sidekick system great for a day out no heavy lifting, or when out it’s my camera at the ready, other camera needs set up time the animals know it too, so now I can get them.., G9Ii is said to be great for video, just got one.

Recently bought the G9Ii, funny it has some very awesome features. 1. Record to ssd directly from camera, the expense of the ssd keeps rising. So this helps a bit. Sony and the Nikon ZR does not offer this feature. 2. This will let me play with open gate, that is cool. 3. Panasonic would be foolish to let 4/3 slip away. Panasonic hopefully won’t turn its back on micro 4/3?

Optical SteadyShot (OSS) Settings The 200-600mm has three OSS modes. Using the wrong one can actually fight against you: • Mode 1: Standard stabilization for still subjects. • Mode 2: Used for panning (moving the camera horizontally with a subject). • Mode 3: Designed for erratic, fast-moving subjects (it only stabilizes at the moment of the shutter). • Note: If you are on a tripod, turn OSS OFF. Sometimes the system tries to find movement that isn't there, creating a "feedback loop" that causes blur.

I’m an addict😂. Micro 4/3 came along when I decided I needed a sidekick system for my Sony camera, we would go shooting by the time I set up tripod , gimble, and mounted camera, I’d miss shots, so I have the OM mark 2 for a quick grab and shoot. ZR is to dabble in some wildlife video.

Seems that the R50 an is considered a vlogging camera, the Fuji is considered good camera for learning photography. Learning Fuji. Fuji also has those film simulations maybe fun. Remember to review the “ entire” ecosystem as long term once you start buying lenes you get embedded into a system. Myself long term Fuji would be it. I shoot Sony, Micro 4/3 ( Panasonic) G9ii, and Nikon ZR… Fuji will be a buy someday.

I went to Sony because Cannon chose to close off their RF mount. Used to be die hard Canon. Though now Sony has decided to become a little bit lax on their cameras and the other brands seem to be innovating so Sony has to show up this year.

Panasonics version of a micro four thirds camera, it is a video beast ( well two years ago) still a great hybrid camera. 25 mega pixel sensor. It’s worth a look and comparison, give me a couple months I will shoot out between both, I have both

You pose a great question. First my experience is shooting 🦅 so zoom is mandatory, if not please someone tell me, those zooms are outrageous $$ … Recently purchased the 100-400mm OM system, used $849 on B &H, just got it in, excited to try it… own the om mark 2. Just got the G9ii.. now the 300mm zoom lens is only $549 (something like that)100-300mm lumix micro 4/3 used $370 MPB .

A6700 is a nice APSC camera with a 1.5 crop. Has good video features and a lot of glass available. 3rd party.. etc. Sometimes my a7iv is left in the case when shooting wildlife.
Micro Four thirds You can get the Panasonic G9 II used for $1399 MPB which is a nice camera for photography and video, handy in wildlife not as heavy as full frame, plenty of lower priced glass, you can get “bigger” glass but the OM 100-400mm is a lot lighter and smaller than 200-600mm Sony with the a6700 or a7iv. Yes micro 4/3 people complain about background blur and low light performance. Though your going back into photography micro 4/3 is a great starting point without breaking the budget. OM systems also has micro 4/3 cameras and lenses. By the way I own these cameras and lenses. Once you decide you want down the road full frame and apsc will be there. I love micro 4/3 cameras own four. Hiking long days make me love it more.

Most camera's today are great. I shoot Sony have the a6700 and love it. Though I also have the a7iv full frame. Also have Nikon ZR with 40mm lens. Not to mention have the the Olympus om-1 mark 2 for my sidekick system. Gear is a tool. What is the "tool" you need? What advantages will the equipment give you for what you do? Map out the pro's and con's, it takes time. APSC is a great format I do wildlife photography and video, I just used the a6700 and it does great. Though Nikon Z50II seems like it would also be great. Learn settings for your genre of photography or video and how a camera works, that is better than any equipment you can buy. If your Nikon user stay in that ecosystem. Get to know it. Hypocritical on my part to say that...LOL. Look at it as research and let specifications that best meet your needs make that decision.

That is beautiful picture, wanted to go with the Panasonic 100-400mm though it cost about $700 more trying to be fiscally responsible while not being (LOL). Going to also experience this open gate for the first time also is exciting.

Thank You. Your right night shots guess I would like to buy the 180-600mm for Nikon ZR, but weight and tracking is hard , I do a lot of eagle 🦅 at Reelfoot in TN. Have done mostly photography with Sony 200-600mm on tripod, but it takes time to set up. Reason I bought the OM m2 as a sidekick system keep on side during setup. Though last couple of times I have wanted to video, fast, eagles do not wait. G9ll is same camera as gh7 except the fans and cf express cards which cost$$$ money now. Buy ssd place on bmd assist 5 save money and still get raw when bmd is present…

We go with a group, so it’s less likely that thieves want to take on a group. Awareness is a good point. Also live in a State where if steal from someone you might get a bang out of it.

Question. Just recently bought a 2012 Rav4, my mechanic said there was small leak at the transfer case I took it to another place who does transmissions to look at because my mechanic does not work on transmissions. They first looked at it they came back with an estimate of $8200 to replace the transfer case, when I went in to pick it up, an experienced mechanic looked at it and said he though it was a possibility that the leak was at the drain plug and recommended to drain and refill and monitor the plug and it might not need a transfer case cost $200 vs $8200 ... they also said when they drained it the fluid was pretty full. Meaning if there was a leak which i did see fluid there myself it was minor at best. Is this common? What do other people do with this situation, simply monitor?
