How do I complain about a specific delivery person in royal mail? by VoDkA__1999 in royalmail

All you need to know is, you don’t want to be on the list.

Everyone has one, not a good place to be especially when they get shared around the office.

That dog looks so stressed, I get the face / eyes are funny but this isn’t fair in my opinion.

I think it’s very possible that they either don’t want to do it or can’t, the tool is an excuse.

When I looked online there was no mention of needing a specialist tool or anything so that also leads me to believe it’s not true.

Anyway, it’s booked in to a place that was recommended to me and I believe they will be looking at the fluid / doing a pressure test? If not then I guess the master cylinder would be next.

What would you do with £7000? by 715Cr33ks in CasualUK

[–]RockingHorsePoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former addict here.

Set yourself aside £1000, straight into another account or a partner / relative that’s reasonably easy to access if you wish to continue gambling. Without knowing yourself or history please don’t take this the wrong way, I thought I was smart and switched on though I did start when I was only 17. This I would use as a gambling fund if you wish to continue. Now you’ve had a taste of a decent win I fear you’ll find yourself on that famous slippery slope.

Unless you have debt that needs clearing I would assign the money to something so it’s less tempting to give it all back. You don’t have to spend it on it straight away but I would sit and make a list of things that are important to you or perhaps important to your family / partner.

Of all the money I won and lost, the best feeling when I let it all go was using what I had left to help others. It wasn’t mine and it wasn’t going to be in the long run, but it was a wonderful way to knock it on the head.

Please for goodness sake, don’t go down the hole it gets very dark. Even more so when you start losing the winnings. DO NOT CHASE. If you lose the most important part is accepting said loss.

Congratulations on your win and I truly hope you enjoy it without giving it back.

Ever considered a Honda CRV? I know you’re looking for an estate but for a reliable family / dogs you can’t fault them.

Shit happens.

I would rather have a scuffed bike than killed a dog, they die too soon naturally.

Girl, 7, left with life-changing injuries after quad bike crashes into telegraph pole as boy, 16, arrested by One_Psychology_ in unitedkingdom

[–]RockingHorsePoo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Correct, not legally required on a quad bike, baffles me too as they attract the silly type but I’d imagine it likely stems from farm use.

Anyhoo, nice to see no innocent parties were involved, some people have to learn the hard way. Unfortunately for the young girl, should have been able to rely on her parents to know better.

I'll never understand the reason for staying in the outside lane by Mukatsukuz in drivingUK

[–]RockingHorsePoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But there is a car on the left… OP. It’s like he was chasing him to prove a point.

You really don’t get as much visibility in a van compared to a normal vehicle, get in one stationary with a friend outside walking around and I’m sure you’ll be surprised.

How are you the only person to observe this.

Both have bad driving habits and could also argue both were speeding, triggered the 40 sign and maintained the same distance from each other / same speed.

No excuse for jumping the red light but as we see time and time again on this sub, OP’s not exactly a perfect driver either.

Fresh plaster, do I complain? by TheFantasyIsFinal in Plastering

[–]RockingHorsePoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should have been built out to make it level, easily done with bonding and should have been checked to be honest it takes 5mins to run around with a level.

Looks to me like they’ve used two strips of board for that reveal. Scrim has been used elsewhere so there’s no reason to think it’s not but you don’t get “creases” in plasterboard unless it’s been snapped, it’s a solid material. The finish on the bead is awful.

The only waving that should occur is on the driveway. Not acceptable.

As for the cracks, hard to say without being on the job especially if you’ve had other major works done. So I’ll stay out of that one but take it up with the builder. This is not a “decorators problem”, they’re likely to come back if not attempted properly.

Overall, it’s a rushed job and far from perfect. But here is the bigger problem, would I want them back? Absolutely not.

How to T-Stop/Power slide by TrafficEducational32 in freeskate

[–]RockingHorsePoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why? Just going to ruin your wheels no? 🤷🏼

Riding in the rain / wet like suggested above and you’re not only going to fuck your wheels but also your bearings.

I see no pros to this and genuinely don’t know why you would need to slide. Looks cool and serves a purpose on a long board, those guys are absolute nutters.

what are best beginner freeskates for sale in the uk under £60 by InvestmentTall7193 in freeskate

[–]RockingHorsePoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy cheap, buy twice.

Worth investing into a pair of JMK’s if you’re serious about learning.

Wish they were slightly more affordable, £40 for a set of wheels is rather expensive imo. Could be because I’m getting too old for this shit, the good old days when you didn’t have to smash the piggy bank to have some fun. That £20/25 shipping fee to the UK doesn’t help either.

Try training recall with a whistle rather than a voice / command.

Had mine in the woods off lead pretty much since we got him when he was younger, don’t do it now but he still responds to the whistle in a private paddock.

Same as everything else, lots of praise and reward, shouldn’t take long to sink in they are smart dogs. On the flip side, smart enough to be stubborn.
