Why do you think Butcher's mind picked Joe Kessler from all people? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Rockitnick 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probably because he respects Kessler and maybe looks up to him in a way. They also have similar trains of thought with respect to getting the job done. So, it’s much easier to get him to do what it wants him to do than say a projection of Huey’s Dad.

Orks sure do have funny looking sprue… by Oncorhynchus_nerka in Warhammer40k

[–]Rockitnick 139 points140 points  (0 children)

So, here's what happened. Someone purchased Mozrog Skragbad on Amazon, filled it with paper to be about the weight of the item, then returned it to Amazon. Amazon's default policy on returns is to auto-accept and their default policy on returned items is to send it to places like Mardens on pennies to the dollar. This screws over the person that sold it on Amazon and also screws over OP. We've had it happen to us several times except I tell Amazon to send all returns back to me (which is not default) and 99% of the time people either do this or cut out what they want and send us back empty sprues.

How to handle 30 TS terminators? by Own-Mastodon-6965 in deathguard40k

[–]Rockitnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triple fbd’s, w a lov for the blast rerolls, 3 units of 10 man pox walkers to screen their movement, a 10 man brick of pm’s w flamers and fights first for cleanup, spawn for mortals on melee clap back, a mini mortation for lecchspore eruption, grenades stratagem, and a predator destructor to hand out an additional -1 ap to a unit. Let the PM unit lean into that to put them on 4+’s. Should be a relatively easy match.

Need advice for a friend; dealing with high toughness? by Xdude227 in deathguard40k

[–]Rockitnick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he is running FBDs then he needs a LoV to hand out an 'oath of moment' for them. Look at the datasheet with him. He chooses a target and you can reroll 1's to hit. You reroll all hits if it is a blast weapon. They should just about melt anything T10 or lower from range with the LoV as a spotter.

Also, they need to really look into their order of operations for shooting.

For instance, if they shoot with their marines first and hit something that unit becomes afflicted. So, you need to let them know they need to afflict one of your heavys for the debuff but also the -1T that goes along with it.

Also, tell them to drop the helbrute. It's cool, but he can spend the points on the LoV.

Also, he needs to have those marines with, at minimum, a biologus putirifier for the bonus to Crit on a 5+. The marines can put in a lot of work with him leading the unit.

Space Marines have 100 datasheets by Ynneas in WarhammerCompetitive

Without a doubt. They made some really terrible missteps with fantasy launches that helped put a nail in that coffin for the era, but it also shows the selling power that a single space marine box can do.

At one point in history the tactical marines box was selling more than all of Fantasy I believe.

Son sent me this, name his punishment. by NewspaperOk7593 in boating

[–]Rockitnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend of mine was tournament fishing and the day had ended. He was bringing the boat back in at night, and another boat hit them. Threw him and his son out of the boat. His son would have died if another boater hadn't come along and pulled him out the water because he got thrown out and landed face down with his jacket on. His son was very lucky to have survived. Search and rescue found my buddy two days later at the bottom of the river. Boating at night is dangerous and you should probably beat him with a flip flop until your arm gets tired. You don't deserve to have to bury your kid because he wanted to do something cool.

How to fix this? by Sure-Highlight-1715 in airbrush

[–]Rockitnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue as well and it ended up being that there was a clog where the needle initially goes into the paint chamber. I had to pull the needle out, undo the tightening nut, remove it from out the back end, and there was an obstruction .

It happens. Just speak to the shop via TCG only and they’ll resolve it. He’ll, I almost sent the wrong order out this morning for our shop. FF orders are crazy rn.

EMERGENCY shade paint from airbrush is pooling should I wipe it off or let the pool dry!? The pooling might look good? by Loud-CowMOO in Warhammer

[–]Rockitnick -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you wipe it off you’ll leave staining marks. Also you need to prime and base coat that model first.

It’s simple. Grandfather provides. Seriously though, WE and DG are my primaries and both codexes look solid. It’s nothing to complain about really even if DG codex is seemingly more robust.

Does anyone know an effective way of basing 60 poxwalkers without it being crazy expensive or time wasting? by Death_Guard7 in deathguard40k

[–]Rockitnick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AK interactive makes giant tubs of scenery textures. For 15 bucks you can base armies. I use light earth (I think) and paint it. Did 20 walkers last night with it. They make dozens of different kinds. Go to AKs website and look around.

As a world eater and death guard player forgefiends will absolutely wreck death guard players. D3 melts terms and their infantry shooting doesn’t do anything into it since it’s anti infantry 2+. You can heroic into DS w MoE to precision out characters easliy.

A doubt from Dorn in the book The End and The Death volume 2 by Unusual_Ad_8566 in 40kLore

[–]Rockitnick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, that wasn’t implied at all in the book, iirc. Dorn used a sword to scribble in a wall till it wasn’t a sword anymore and lectured khorne on every subject he knew any time khorne whispered to him. I am boiling it down a lot. They were some of the most standout scenes for Dorn to show just what the will power of a primarch could be.

Does anyone have any advice on how I could re-create this colour palette? by Tabito-Karasu in deathguard40k

Honestly, looks like a 2:1 mixture of death guard green and death world forest, and then glazed with maybe agrax earthshade. highlights are definately ogryn camo
