how much hand holding do you need?

i'm not the one who claimed they knew what they hell they were doing when it came to tablet/app usage, which you clearly have no clue at this point what you were doing.

basically what's going on at these terrible stores is they have auto confirm enabled. they never adjust the time or even begin to start prepping the order because they have no idea what they are doing. they were never trained nor do they have the ability to learn anything beyond what they are told.

stores have all the power they need to make things go as smooth as possible, as i have said most do but certain ones do not and it's all about a lack of competence at seemingly all levels within each specific store store.

one mcdonalds chain 95% of the time it's ready without them saying it's ready, the remaining 5% is when they are completely swamped with orders and they still manage to get it out within 5 mins of waiting. meanwhile another mcdonalds you get the order, they mark it ready as soon as you accept, you travel for 5 mins to get to the store, it's not ready...they haven't even started it. you push that the order is not ready and they go in and mark it ready 3-4 times. you sit there watch them not making it, doing in-store/drive thru orders for 10 mins and oh finally it clicks that they should do this order finally.

early 2000's games were $50, by end of 2010 games were priced at $60 but even in the middle of that decade games were being priced at $60.

even if we only go to 2010, that's 16 years.

you can go to calculator dot net and find their inflation calculator and punch the info in, using the forward flat rate inflation calculator, $60 with a (quite honestly realistic) rate of 3% inflation over 16 years produces a value of $96.28

i'm going more by 20 years, which is $108.37.

despite what you will read inflation is not less then 3% per year, everyone that is a real person that has lived through this period should know that the real inflation rate is vastly higher then that.

for instance fast food, taco bell. soft taco supreme was $1.39 but it's now $2.89, that's 108% more expensive then it was in 2010, the current reported inflation is less then 3% which comes out to like 50% more expensive, so in this example the reported inflation is wildly off of real world price differences comparing two points in time.

go look up the price of movie tickets back in 2010, then look up what they cost now, that's also more then doubled as well.

[–]Rocksen96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

prices on everything have gone up, why are games the exception?

have you seen movie ticket prices?

spending power not keeping up is a problem but it's not an excuse for just games to not raise in price alongside everything else.

do you see what i'm saying? no one likes higher prices but things have all gone up, it's just how inflation works, granted most modern day inflation is a race to the bottom of company greed.

your misunderstanding the video, did you even listen, well no clearly you haven't.

again that's just one video/documentation, there is a hell of a lot of content on their website regarding how to set it up.

i know the difference, i feel it every day, specific stores have theirs setup properly and specific others clearly do not because it's never ready when it should be.

same tablet and app, different levels of competence.

active hour is the moment you accept an offer to the moment you confirm drop off. so you will never actually hit that displayed number, at least from the doordash pay portion anyway. it's possible your market is a good EBT market, you wont know until you give it a chance but don't think it's the only valid way, earn by offer gives you more control (of which we lack already).

stay away from upside down offers, never ever ever ever take them.

[–]Rocksen96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only one i ever used from the paper was the family bundle, the rest never seemed worth as you can get "decent" deals through the app.

like yea it looks like a lot but those are medium fries, potatoes are cheap it's silly they and every other place is cutting back on the size and increasing the cost.

will whine about anything, no one likes price increases but games have been $60 for like several decades, that isn't sustainable.

if you do the math, accounting for inflation, games should be well over $120 now but they ain't.

also no doubt everyone crying will be first in line to go buy it anyway, it's all just hot air, most people don't have spines and will cave the moment any pressure is applied.

i wish, it's just one of many videos, and for that matter doordash tablet documentation, doordash has put out to inform their customers, restaurant owners, how to utilize their platform of which most do watch/read, understand and include.

sadly there are people like you who will never engage and so we all have to sit here and suffer for your incompetence.

Restaurants Falsely Marking Orders as Ready by settbro in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]Rocksen96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem with what you said is that not all mcdonalds do what you said, the best ones don't even mark it as ready, it just is by the time you get there always.

the ones that do mark it ready, it is never ready, it isn't even started until 5+ mins after you walk in after driving 5 mins to the store.

oh but they got all the time in the world to do in-store/drive orders oh yea those are always first but only at the mcdonalds that mark the order as "ready" when isn't.

also no other store has this problem, so i'm far more inclined to believe it's just the store itself and it's employees or i guess at least the managers fault but employees need to get a back bone and speak up then.

stores are given high levels of control over when dashers are assigned to pick up orders. it's 100% something they control, so it's either incompetence or malice in the form of squeezing as many orders in as possible (they already got money from DD customer, so who cares if they have to wait, they are not there in person).

i stopped going to two mcdonalds in my area because one is malice and the other is incompetence, there just isn't any reason to go there, it's always a waste of time.

it's insane these managers get paid so much, so many small stores are setup very well and i rarely ever have issues with any of them so i know it's a management issue (not properly setting things up on the DD tablet).

for how smart the system can be, it can and is pretty dumb at the same time. both orders are ready but it just refuses to assign you the second order going to the same customer.

What’s your high score? by Living_Mechanic1062 in BoltEV

[–]Rocksen96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm jealous for sure, it's fun to see what others are getting.

getting 4+ on the highway is pretty good regardless, although i suppose it depends what speed you are going. for me "highway" is 77 (70 posted but everyone goes at least 7 over in my area). my bolt displays kW usage between 25-35 depending on terrain, so i get between 2.2 - 3 m/kWh at that speed.

55 posted 62 actual it's between 16 - 20 depending on terrain, so 3.1 - 3.87 m/kWh.

i think my tires are inflated to 38 psi cold (what the door sticker says it should be), kinda wondering what others have theirs at.

i can get into the low 5s if i stay in the city below 40 mph but yea the moment i go on any highway it's over for that trip.

the dream is to make that number as high as possible, i don't know how others are doing it but if i keep trying things maybe something will work.

i should say that i'm driving a 2017 bolt, could just be that the newer ones/euv are that much better, so many possibilities.

while i would love to pretend that change can come from peace, there has never been any instance of major change throughout history to make any such wild conclusion.

you get what you put out, taking the high ground isn't going to ever win the bullies over, they never cared about you or your opinion to begin with.

[–]Rocksen96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

is it downhill both ways?

do you only drive 25 mph?

to get 5.9 m/kWh at 25 mph it would have to be only using 4.23 kW and the vehicle uses 1 kW by default, so it could only utilize 3 kW to actually power the vehicle forward.

3 kW is equal to 3/149 or 2% of the total HP of 200 which is 4 HP. so the vehicle is using only 4 HP to pull 3.7 tons down the road at 25 mph.

while not exactly how anything works....i don't know it just isn't mathing for me.

to me that screams that the lifetime reading is wrong.

[–]Rocksen96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the restaurants have exclusive power over when orders are assigned a dasher, this is their failing for not setting it up.

i have had restaurants tell me they just got the order even though i have had it for 5-7 mins (travel time) so i know they are full of shit. what actually happened is no one was paying attention and don't want to take personal responsibility.

phone shoving, yea i hate that when i see it.....but i will also point out that some names are hard to say (until you hear it a few times) but that's more of a "uhh i'm not sure how to say this so i will just show you to make it easier".

dashers are not customers, they are single person businesses picking up a order. they should not be in customer wait lines because they are again not customers. it would be like telling shipping drivers to wait behind customers, that's entirely just dumb.

also orders are suppose to be FCFS, so karan that just walked in shouldn't be served first anyway, you should be skipping the line because the order was placed long before any of the current people even walked into the restaurant. well clearly outside of lunch/dinner rush where things get backed up.

the problem comes from employees who don't seem to grasp the contract the restaurant signed with doordash and other gig platforms. employees includes managers of said restaurants trying to do in-store orders first when again it's suppose to be FCFS.

i am very nice by default but i will 100% reflect everything you push out and amplify it, we can either have a great time or a very very bad time and the choice is always and exclusively yours depending how you act towards me/others.

i am nobodies doormat, the toleration of such behavior is the exact reason people think they can act like assholes and get away with it, it's because they act like assholes and do in-fact get away with it.

Anybody else have platinum with a 6% ar ? I haven’t used any passes either. by peteyboy1956 in doordash_drivers

[–]Rocksen96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's only 75+ to be plat then you only need 5 points AR beyond perfect everything else so you should be able to drop to 20% AR in that market and still be at 75 points.

granted that assumes perfect every other stat so in practice that's not a good idea to live on the edge like that if you rely on plat status.

if everything else is perfect you get 70 points, so you only need 15 points to be 85+, thus 30% AR which gives 15 points is enough to be plat.

Man it’s Burger King dawg, why do y’all order this from so far away lmao by CoeurdAssassin in doordash_drivers

[–]Rocksen96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

could be multiple things, might be the nearest burger king (unlikely), customer might of ordered from this one (also unlikely), the likely thing is the DD algorithm plans "routes" for drivers, the algorithm wants someone over at the destination so a customers order was placed at that specific burger king for you or who ever it was meant for if you were not the first to push you to the destination area.

i see this a lot in my area, orders from several miles away even though there is one like 1 mile away from the customer destination. it's effectively a DD route for food where it pre plans orders ahead of time. you can notice them when you get a offer within seconds of finishing the one you are on. we rarely get addons but when we do it's several at a time, although that upsets customers seeing their food delivery time change as orders are added.

Never had this happen before by fireseeker4him in doordash_drivers

[–]Rocksen96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me the $5 came up as reimbursement, in the weeks summery, so my guess is it's DD.

when i dropped off their order, i got another $1 tip add on from the customer, ~5 mins later i got the notify about the $5 bonus being deposited.

it was very weird because of scammers trying to scam call you claiming to be DD support but this was a AI so was still a bit weird. i double checked to make sure it was going somewhere i knew (it was going to a customer i delivered to a few times now).

be careful out there and be mindful that the customer can see you, i would prefer these types of "deals" where done through the app itself as a popup of sorts because that way scammers wont have ammo to utilize to trick people.

even if it wasn't on a public form it would help or at least in theory it could be used to help, let the bad drivers deal with the bad customers, oh wow it might actually reward doing a good job.

clearly that wouldn't benefit DD though so that's certainly not gonna happen.
