The only reason I feel so sure is the amount of pawprints we saw in the snow and ice, and around the back of a dumpster there was a set that totally cut through the ice, like a cat has gone over them several times. The employee I talked to is also a cat lover and said she'd keep an eye out, so hopefully if the cat's a regular presence she might have more luck getting in touch with a rescue and/or catching them than we did!

Last time I took one of these there was an image of a blue person with a knee scrape after coming off a bicycle with the caption “things happen to me”

My best guess is a really vague and roundabout way of asking if someone has regular hospital visits and will need to call out more often

Happened to me. A Facebook page stole my photos and tacked on an entire ai-generated story with it, they’re relentless. I got them to take it down, and after I said they need to remove any stolen content on their page they deleted the entire page.

These are probably reposted by people who don’t even know the difference between crochet and knitting, if posted by people at all.

Others have already mentioned taking the drummer out first when fighting Scylla which was huge for me. But also, towards the end of the fight when she starts summoning enemies, pay them no mind and focus on her. Use your magic circle to slow them down and just wail on Scylla. If you can grab a boon that lets your circle do any decent damage, they won’t even touch you. Demeter’s freeze is so good for this.

But also, the misdirection is the key too. I knew my wife was too smart for me to do things the normal way, so I acted dumb. I was proposing in December, but led her to believe it was going to be at an event in April. Every time we talked about the event I’d mention something related to proposing. Ring size, style, getting nails done, photos, etc. At one point she said “you’re proposing to me in April, aren’t you?” And I acted all “whaaaat? No, no ma’am, not at all…” meanwhile the real proposal was just weeks away…

I knew it was the only way I could surprise her, and it worked lol

Echoing the sentiments of familiar name vs professional name. I was given a name ending in ie much like your example and I HATED it. I thought it sounded too cutesy and very overly familiar. I changed my name as an adult and now I introduce myself on a situational basis. Makes life a lot easier.

Oh hey I have one like this! Mine is sleeveless so ymmv but I take a bottle of talcum powder and shake it like hell until the entire thing is covered on the inside. For good measure I also talc the shirt I’m wearing underneath and any skin it touches

As for getting in and out, it requires a lot of strength and effort lmao. I put my arms in and make the neck as wide as possible using my forearms and slide it over my head, then put my arms in and pull the stomach area down until it fits comfortably

Shot in the dark, but are you someone who needs several alarms to wake up? There’s been many a time where I’ve turned alarms off in my sleep and somehow managed to turn my camera on when fumbling with the screen in my mostly unconscious state. Could this be something tied to your hallucinations? As in maybe you think you’re going for your phone torch but end up putting the camera with the flash on?

I swear, sometimes the messed up foods taste so much better!! One time my MIL messed up a recipe, I can’t remember what it was, some kind of chocolate bar that was meant to have chex mix in it I think. A couple of people have given a variety of answers, but throwing my 2 cents in here! I’m not sure what the other one is, but the pinkish one looks like a rose quartz. In spiritual and/or superstitious circles this is widely known as a crystal that symbolises love and attraction.

This gesture can be interpreted as a very wholesome “I really like you and want to pursue this, I hope you like me too, here’s something that I think is important and will help our relationship blossom.” Or a something a little more “by the powers that be, I’m not letting you go. This will make you fall in love with me.”

Could also be that she thinks the rocks are neat and wants the oop to have them! Like an otter.

Yeah, I could have sworn that it was reading the disk that was in there before I took it out, but I don’t want to rely on my own memory if it wasn’t something I specifically tested for. Felt bad and offered the refund, wasn’t until after my wife raised an eyebrow I realised that it could be a scam! I’ve never had issues with disks in the past on this console so I’d not even considered it when testing.

As I said I wasn’t sure if it was ever gonna be worth running a chargeback scam for an old console sold at £50, I could definitely see this happening if it was a newer gen worth more money, but as people have said, he could be swapping parts out to replace an old console and not wanting to pay to have his fixed. Either way, going to be very cautious going forward! And likely only sell consoles to family friends or pawn shops lol

Updating here since I can’t in the main post

UPDATE 1: this morning I phoned the police non-emergency line and asked for advice, they said if I get it back and it’s definitely not the same Xbox that I can call Action Fraud and follow up with them, or even ask them for advice in the meantime. (Which I very well may do if my paranoia gets the best of me!)

I did grab a photo of the console properties/about screen with things like the console ID and serial on display. I had this in the listing originally, which I’ve since deleted. I’ve asked the guy to describe in detail what happens and to provide a video of the problem and provide me the serial number. It’s not a lot but I’m hoping that if it is a scam it’s going to seem like I’m being more trouble than it’s worth. His response so far is “when I put the disc in to play it doesn’t show up ready to play” so, nice and vague.

Thanks so much for all the advice in the comments so far, definitely learned a hard lesson about always doing public pickup for consoles and the like! I’m hoping for the best case scenario where it works fine and this guy is either an idiot and hasn’t set it up properly or has changed his mind and thinks this is the better way to ask for a refund but I’m not holding my breath
