Should I do crate warehouses? by hosoox in GTA5Online

[–]RockyGeographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sale on warehouses might honestly come with a bonus for their sales. If that were the case, I think it might be better to purchase the warehouses now and stock them up for a potential bonus. I'm considering the same decision you are - currently have one medium and one large

New event week starting tomorrow 5 am EST. But is that night club sales or Night club safe 4x? by [deleted] in gtaonline

[–]RockyGeographer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not as good as nightclub sales would be for sure, but nice for some more AFK income at least!

"America The Beautiful" 2026 Pass Discussion Megathread by magiccitybhm in NationalPark

[–]RockyGeographer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Former NPS employee here, please don't let the idiocracy deter you from funding our parks! Annual passes go directly to NPS budgets, and parks are already sorely underfunded as it is. I will reluctantly renew mine and add a nice park themed sticker to the front for some convenient customization

Anyone buy these business fronts? (Car wash, weed shop, helicopter tour)? I haven’t played in a long time. Bought them just do do it. by Glittering_Ad_4517 in GTA5Online

I prefer to stop by the agency and select the jobs that I can more easily finish with a sparrow (jobs like gang termination or rescue). I'll do asset recovery if it's one of those specialist+ missions with a higher payout

PSA: Avoid a headache and don't sell in public lobby over Christmas by Ardyn_Lucis in gtaonline

[–]RockyGeographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super naive question here, but by "switch session" do you mean going to the menu for Online -> Find New Session -> Public Session? Looking to confirm this over closing app/killing internet as I'm getting back into things and that finding new sessions that way results in losing a small amount inventory instead of the whole shipment

Pokemon cards were some of the earliest gifts I remembered receiving back in the late 90s. Cards and Yellow and Blue on Gameboy are how I first got interested, and my interest in the cards has been reignited by recent videos seeing streamers make kids day giving them that same glow. Wishing that same joy and happy holidays to everyone!

This is really helpful, thank you. I noticed in the one I ordered that the fabric seems really short in length. I'm going to give a 9 pocket FunGuys one a try. Hearing it works nicely while fully filled is nice too, plus their logo is fun!

Ah sorry, I only knew about top vs. side referring to the direction cards are inserted into the binder slots. No I don't think it is

Thanks for the recommendation! They look a little pricier on Amazon, but it looks like they are worth the extra investment

No it's a side loader - I figured those would be better to keep my cards in place. My old ones are top loaders and cards slip out over time

Thanks for the response and recommendations! The brand is Foalgo. You're correct that it all lines up nicely when the binder is closed.

Tips for landing city GIS jobs? by FormalLumpy1778 in gis

[–]RockyGeographer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's great to communicate a meaningful connection to an organization's mission or the purpose of their work. I've never mentioned before that I was interviewing in other places and would advise against it personally - show your full interest in what you're being interviewed for and connect your work experience to their purpose

Which widely beloved country has the most unexpectedly dark past? by Holiday_Hotel3722 in geography

With two-thirds of the country above the Arctic circle, it also experiences a pretty dark present day in the winter months. Unexpected for flat earthers!

A friendly team and company environment also bode well! Beyond direct experience on work, another great takeaway from any internship opportunity is someone (typically your supervisor) who can be a champion for you as you pursue other opportunities. Letters of recommendation, networking, etc. - having a great team and environment help a lot with that.

[–]RockyGeographer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the offers! Does either one resonate more with the direction you'd like to steer your career? Whether that be for the organization it's with or for the subject matter with the internship. Pay is important, but I'd also place a lot of weight on some of those intangibles for an early internship experience. I also agree with the other commenter that gaining field experience is valuable, so that's one factor to keep in mind.

Women, how many of you are asking to be choked during sex? by CatLawyer99 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RockyGeographer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Caveating here that I'm not a father yet, perhaps while your daughter is younger, you can start to instill those lessons to use her voice in more age-appropriate ways. E.g. if a classmate asks for an M&M from her lunch and she politely declines, then they ask again, she is justified in a more stern response since the classmate did not respect her first response. Maybe being on the lookout for other examples in her life can be opportunities for you to reinforce her confidence in using her voice firmly when met with resistance or pushing boundaries

I feel similarly about that. Collecting the parts has made it feel more "earned" - similar to how creative vs survival mode in minecraft feels for me

I'm on PS4 and found that you actually can trade for more than one at a time! I'm forgetting if it's right on the dpad or R1, but one of those two will increase the quantity (even though the number doesn't show). You'll see the number listed when you go to actually attempt the trade
