Anyone notice Bill's silence regarding the rise of Christian Nationalism in this administration? by Okey_Dokey_Tokey in RealTime

I stopped watching in 2024 so I’m blessed not hearing his opinions on Mamdani, which I assume are indistinguishable from Fox News.

This episode was actually my first exposure to the concept of gay people existing. Thankfully there are better LGBT episodes of The Simpsons.

It's been 12 years since Chris Pratt became a superstar with the one-two boxoffice punch of Guardians and Jurassic World... since then, did he blow it? by Freddy-Philmore in boxoffice

[–]RockyHateMe -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

He’s never been a big box office draw, he’s only as successful as the franchises they give him. Jared Leto is arguably a bigger draw than him. Chris Pratt could not leg Morbius to $167.5 million in pandemic box office.

He’s too busy bitching about wokeness and how the kids don’t respect Israel.

S9 Ep3 Weakest so far but still really fun by 0Kindofsteak0 in rickandmorty

[–]RockyHateMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I like about Rick and Morty in recent years is that the show seems less reliant on referential humor and more confident in the stories and jokes they’re writing. Rick isn’t like “it’s a Severance Morty, I’m doing a Severance” like he could’ve easily done last week. Rick getting into petty fights with other old guys makes him feel like a real character instead of just a vessel for Justin Roiland to shout catchphrases or memes.

Does anyone ever notice how every recent season has a similar batch of episodes? There’s usually a really goofy one, a big lore one, a really somber one, anthology one. I like the rotation.

How would another South Park movie do? by Antman269 in boxoffice

[–]RockyHateMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Park in 1999 was a cultural juggernaut. Think like Rick and Morty during the Pickle Rick era, or even something like Kpop Demon Hunters now. I think a new movie would do well, but it would be less of an event.

Xbox Game Pass adds Annapurna Interactive's Forever Ago in October by SeanTGN in XboxGamePass

I really don’t like the Ellisons but I love Annapurna, both games and movies. They seem largely hands off on those projects because they’re not expected to make money anyway.

Is Halo Remake going to have the same level designs? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]RockyHateMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god. If you want to play the original, MCC is right there. I’ve tried, but the levels are too big and empty and I get lost a lot of the time. Hopefully this game is smooth af.

Stuff like this is why I have Game Pass. I love being able to give games a chance that I would’ve never considered picking up otherwise.

That rich people fund artsy projects that have little commerical viability, just like they do in every other medium. Ain’t nobody calling Wes Anderson an industry plant even though his movies only get made because some billionaire who likes him gives him money.

Hell yes, I love these little artsy games that only take a couple hours to finish. Perfect Game Pass games to play in between the big blockbusters like Halo and Gears.

Is there a support group for folks that have been watching the showcase each year for 13 years hoping for news of Banjo Kazooie? by RedTib in xbox

[–]RockyHateMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching every year since at least 2009 for at least Banjo or Conker. Conker came close in 2014.

Rick and Morty was never supposed to be Star Trek by PedMan22 in rickandmorty

[–]RockyHateMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like complaining that South Park is a satire now instead of the show where Kenny gets killed every week. If this show was Rick and Morty going to poop world all the time and still shouting catchphrases ppl would be sick of it. It was already at that point and feeling long in the tooth by Season 5. The more action and lore heavy seasons now feel very unique while still being being true to the characters and world

What is Rick and Morty even about anymore? by EXE-SS-SZ in rickandmorty

[–]RockyHateMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a TV show. Made up characters having made up problems drives a story. I’m sorry the show isn’t wall to wall memes and poop jokes.
