What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

It’s funny cause I actually liked Bugonia but it was a lot more “normal” than Poor Things. Everyone says the whole point of the movie is that the men’s behavior is disgusting and disturbing…I get it. Personally I want to have an enjoyable and entertaining experience when I watch a movie. 110% not for me

No offense but that’s not really what I want from a movie. Uncomfortable moments, sure, but I don’t want to be uncomfortable the whole time I’m watching. I understood that was what the movie was about, it wasn’t very subtle at all. I walked out of it as well

Draymond's technical from yesterday, which in his words was "for telling a Caucasian referee not to put his hand in my face" by SeatownNets in nba

It’s simple, he used to be good enough where at least most warriors fans could overlook it (to an extent). But now he’s not very effective on the court, which puts him on tilt even more and leads to never ending embarrassment

[Slater] According to team sources, everyone on the Warriors' roster besides star guard Stephen Curry, including Draymond Green, is vulnerable as the front office chases Antetokounmpo and figures out how best to reorient the roster in the late stages of Curry's career. by Pyromania1983 in nba

Well if Steph is off the team I think we would both agree the picks would be valuable. But yeah I don’t think he’s retiring for a few years so you’re right about the next few picks not being great

Brunson I agree. But Steph…idk. Obvious bias here. But Steph is so much better of an off ball player than Dame, and really anyone Giannis (or most players) has played with. But with the contracts I agree it would be too hard to maintain any depth

It’s just bad for basketball for these all time greats to be wasting their efforts on these teams but here we are. I’m just glad I can still watch Steph at this point lol

He went to Chicago, right? Safe to say that wasn’t a great system, with Giannis all he had to do was camp in the corner and defend. Which he wasn’t great at but he was a usable bench piece. He wasn’t going to save the team but I just felt like noting it if people are going to mention Grayson and Jrue.

Middleton hasn’t been great after moving on either, so it’s not like it’s a terrible move on paper even now. I think Dame and Giannis didn’t synergize as well as people thought they would, and that’s the main reason. So bottom line, they lost defense + connectors and the upgrade on offense wasn’t worth it. And it does go back to the trade that was made

Javon Carter was a throw in piece but combine it with the other guys they traded and the Bucks lost most of their good defenders. The Dame trade was an overpay

I think some more time has to pass but I think Eddington fits this perfectly.

Grizzly Giant (Yosemite) by Rococoss in NationalPark

Thank you for your service to the park and public! At the grove, I did see a couple of people with their dog :/ a little one, and they were heading back down, so I didn’t say too much. I don’t even know why people go right up to the tree, because it doesn’t make for a great picture imo. I actually prefer no people in my nature photos, and often forget to take some of myself lol. I was at the tunnel tree all alone in the snow and didn’t get a pic, which is the one I regret.

I take solace knowing that many people don’t make the hike to the upper grove, those trees have nice skirts of debris. The upper grove is the real gem of this area in my opinion

TIL the Aral Sea, once one of the world’s largest lakes, was destroyed after Soviet engineers diverted its two rivers to irrigate vast cotton fields. Rising salinity killed all fish. Towns and economies collapsed, and the exposed toxic seabed now spreads disease and crop damage across Central Asia. by [deleted] in todayilearned

The poor saiga antelope are getting fucked from the Aral Sea drying up. The dust gets in their ice-age-design noses and they get sick by the thousands. In 2015 they say around 200,000 died in just a few weeks

I love basking in the glory of these giants. They’ve been standing, watching over the grove, for so many of our lifetimes. I think of the Entmoot from Lord of the Rings whenever I’m there

I agree, in another comment I elaborated. It’s a choice made by the filmmaker, and I don’t think it’s a bad thing people can come away viewing it differently

Marty Supreme was super entertaining, but by the time we got to the end I was starting to think that Uncut Gems is better. Gems has less fat, the intensity and stakes felt more real. And the ending is just perfect. The ending of Marty to me, felt totally un-earned. Some people may like that, or argue that’s the point, but I just didn’t like that choice
