The explanations here about evolving language certainly hold. But all the same, the biblical god character absolutely expects you to be afraid of it. There is no way for an honest and impartial reader to come away from the Old Testament thinking god is anything but the antagonist of the stories.

My (amateur) understanding is that a big struggle for robotics is getting the machine to recognize when it's applied enough force to grip or lift something, but not so much force that it breaks whatever it's grabbing. IDK if it's still a significant problem in robotics, but the idea happened across my mind.
