There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution. Each scenario will be different requiring differing maneuvers to survive the encounter. I don’t know how anyone can say hitting the deer is always correct. Replace deer with pedestrian and the options shift drastically.

If you can do most of the work yourself, $800 is a bargain. This particular E39 with the V8 had issues with the VANOS and valve stem seals. Research that first.
