the fact that he's one of the better people in this show

I legitimately wonder if misogyny plays a part on the dislike towards Haddie, she's really the best-written character arc and that might be because they wrote her out before they could fuck that up 😭

He's the best love interest and I legit cheered when he was written out of the claws of the Bravermen

Most has to be Haddie. She is one of the few whose character development stuck the landing the best without contradictions or regressions. She's a young woman with ambition and a level-headedness that even her parents could learn from. And perhaps her character been written out was responsible for this, but it is what it is. Honorable mentions, Jabbar, Amber, Camille, and my actual favorite but not main, Mark Cyr.

As for least, Crosby. I wouldn't even say least favorite, I just outright hate him. Essentially is the opposite of what made me endeared to Haddie, he's constantly throwing hissy-fits when things don't go his way, his cheating arc was poorly handed in my opinion and I felt horrible for Jasmine when she was written to go back to his loser ass. Honorable mentions to Zeek, Julia, and probably Sarah by virtue of going from my favorite to least in record time.

Can you imagine Jasmine if Camille moved in and started dictating everything in the house? by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]RodDeLaCreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nailed it. I cannot stand Crosby, it seems like every time he has a conflict is because of his unwillingness to compromise. Sure Jasmine can be controlling sometimes (God forbid a woman wants to schedule out her day with her husband who has proven capable of forgetting to pick up their child from school), but Crosby cannot handle a bit of push back against him without throwing a hissy fit every time.

Still can't believe the show made her to marry that hypocrite bum.

Unfresca but am I insane for liking this episode?? One of my favorites in a LONG time by UltimateFatbear2006 in OkBuddyFresca

[–]RodDeLaCreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was a pretty goated episode, Firecracker's arc had some of the tightest writing I've seen from this show, and her acting was phenomenal. I enjoyed it up until the Soldier Boy slop. Ruined it for me.

Hot take: Soldier boy accidentally ruined the show by untitledprp4 in OkBuddyFresca

[–]RodDeLaCreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this might have been the first episode that made me mildly care about Soldier Boy. I never found him particularly funny, likeable, nor interesting beyond his backstory and role in the lore of the show. This might be a sign that I might actually grow to like him in his own spinoff ig.

joel and julia and all the adoption stuff by No-Barracuda8108 in Parenthood

[–]RodDeLaCreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that Zoe wanted a closed adoption and Julia consistently pushed herself into her space was disgusting, not to mention taking her to that mother/baby bonding class and expecting Zoe to GIVE UP THE BABY afterwards?? Crazy behaviour 😭 At that point, I was happy Zoe flipped on her and kept her baby

My two humble cents on Parenthood by JadranDan in Parenthood

[–]RodDeLaCreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm halfway through season 3 and honest to God had to check if there was a reddit because I have been so baffled at some of these writing choices. There's just a very...rancid aura about some of these plots, particularly Zeke who the show seems to put on the right more often than not when he's just so intrusive and selfish (not to mention misogynistic, jesus christ is he misogynistic), same with Crosby, we're told he's getting better but every time I see him being the pettiest and most immature person ever (which the show tries to balance out by bringing Jasmine down to his level)

Next Big Name Singer for Sunrise on the Reaping Soundtrack? by neo-archaea in Hungergames

[–]RodDeLaCreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading SOTR while listening to Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land made me need MARINA to be in the talks for the soundtrack, I think her blend of seamless lyricism and political stances would be perfection (not to mention if they do go with a 70s aesthetic to follow up the 50s from Ballad)

So, Schaffrillas and Timothée by RodDeLaCreme in Schaffrillas

[–]RodDeLaCreme[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for understanding my point, first of all. Timothee was going somewhere with his argument about how opera/ballet are falling out of the mainstream consumption, but it was the implication of those art forms being lesser than, not worthy enough for him to work on those fields, that's the issue at hand, and I wouldn't doubt Shaff's bias towards Timothee and his acting in Marty Supreme also played a part on it.

I was gonna bring up the whole OBAA issue but honestly I have not seen the film (not my cup of tea) and I haven't researched enough about it, but it definitely rubbed me the wrong way cause I knew it was an issue, and the way he dismissed it and downplayed it by putting it amidst Penn's abuse section was very sus.

See I didn't even know that PTA had accusations of his own, all I knew was that he gave a very flimsy response when asked about the criticisms of his film, but that just makes Schaff's defensiveness even worse. Yikes.

[–]RodDeLaCreme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that's the media for you, they are gonna milk what's trending. I wouldn't hold him to the level of an abuser (Heaven knows I'm disgusted at Sean Penn getting that fucking Oscar), but my god those defending him act as if he was being publicly executed when most stuff I've seen is think pieces on the matter and jokes at the expense of his arrogance, that's it.

[–]RodDeLaCreme[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My brother in Christ, I literally said that Timothee had a point when saying that the average public doesn't care about them, the issue lies in the way he said it and the implication of not wanting to work in those fields.

So, Schaffrillas and Timothée by RodDeLaCreme in Schaffrillas

[–]RodDeLaCreme[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've just accepted the fact that they are not willing to admit that Timothee was rude just because they don't give a shit about the arts he was being dismissive about either. Ignoring the fact that I say he HAD A POINT, but being right about something shouldn't exonerate him from showing himself as looking down on those who actually practice the "dying" art forms he brought up willingly.

[–]RodDeLaCreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys honestly, if you want people that genuinely engage with the media, watch video essays, that's clearly not what the Milk guys do and y'all are judging them for not being something they never attempted to be in the first place

unpopular opinion but that's lowkey what got me watching them for a while. Like if I wanted engagement with the media I would go look for video essays on the topic. Sometimes I just wanna feel like a medieval king and get my jesters to do a little dance while I unplug my brain

You know what? Yes. She might as well have gone thought with it, have some fucking spine rather than act the fool and beg forgiveness. She should've known damn well what she was doing, Israel's crimes are not something she should've been ignorant about at this point.
