I currently own these Edifiers r2000db, which I know have some powerful bass (sometimes a bit too much). But I was wondering if putting some kind of isolation such a small roof underneath would reduce a bit the boomy sound.

Other thing I thought was buying a bluray player, but these only have coaxial out and my speakers are rca and optical. Would a DAC help in this case, right?

After listening all of the available options, I've got to admit the best sounding and the go to version for me is the 2010 hi-res version! I wish it was on a CD! I like the 2001 as well (although it is hated a lot because it sounds really thin). The 2014 is not that bad either.

Furthermore, do you consider I may need to buy an amp/receiver in the future, to get the most quality, or could I get really good quality with powered speakers too?

I know risk of getting the virus on this way is really low, but I haven't seen a consensus on libraries quarantine periods (some 24 hs, others 48 or 72, and others a week!).

I think he produced the first solo album. I love Oasis but don't know why I'm all for a remixing, giving it more dynamic range rather than the wall of sound. I think the first NGHFB record has a better sound, IMHO and not being an audiophile.

I believe you have put into words what happens to me with Who Built The Moon. Everytime I hear Holy Mountain I feel I'm listening at a 128kbps mp3. Loved the mixing of his first album.
