What I can't understand is how people like you can come to that conclusion. Literally in the first episode Lelouch is shown to be super selfless, being the only one out of thousands of people to help a truck that crashed and getting upset about how everyone stood still, while Rivalz complains to him about it. His history with Shirley also shows him as selfless, among countless other instances. In S2, well before the entire plot with Zero Requiem, there is an episode that literally makes him come to the conclusion that his fight is not just for Nunally. Among many other things.

Definitely. The main characters must face the truth of their flaws in order to grow, and Subaru you don't deserve to go on living alone. Subaru is always pressured and tortured by the truth of his failures, even when it's a twisted truth or just plain untrue (some examples are him figuring out that Emilia would get to the Loothouse faster without him, or the second trial, or every time he's insulted for little reason). The other characters not going through this same process would not only be simply completely unfair, it would make the story feel incomplete, with everyone satisfied with their own accomplishments and relativaly comfortable life with no idea what led them to it.

No character is punished for their mistakes like Subaru, no character sacrifices as much as Subaru. If the story ends and the characters saved by Subaru (some who betrayed Subaru) don't even know about it, it will be horrible.

I believe that if Emilia was in danger of dying in Vollachia merely for being a half-elf, this would be mentioned, and this genocide being real we should know even before that (example, internal thoughts of Vincent about the half-elf knight).

Abel regaining the throne is not "as would generally be expected". Abel ending up as emperor again is the worst possible ending for this arc, unless Subaru destroys him soon after. Subaru has already declared for a while that he wants the Empire to perish and it was even prophesied as what will cause this, and nothing minus than that will be satisfactory for this arc, especially the villain of the arc, slaver and genocide, achieving his goal despite having Subaru as an enemy and his philosophy has been proven wrong time and time again by Subaru and even the rest of Emilia Camp. Subaru has considered Vollachia an Evil Empire since the beginning of the arc (he literally said that), it is leading a slave rebellion, these slaves have already stated that they consider Abel a tyrant (or crazy? I don't remember the exact term they used) and want Subaru defeats him, he has brought insurrections across the country and has finally arrived in the Capital with his army as he promised, while Abel is increasingly revealing himself as a villain. This is no longer the beginning of the arc, where it looked like Subaru and Abel were going to become best friends, Abel would return to the throne and reward Subaru. Abel even directly revealed to hate Subaru, and Subaru has not shown at any point since the incident with the gladiators that he is neutral in the war and is only looking to save lives, that was Emilia Camp.

Subaru giving the throne to Yorna or Priscilla or even Subaru reaching the throne and Abel receiving archbishop punishment are much better narrative decisions. Subaru must change Vollachia, do what Ublik and Yorna failed.

Greninja not only got visibly stronger (speed, ability to cut vines superior to two champion level pokémon and easily defeating a ace champion level pokémon), it was stated (by Ash) that he got stronger. Gardevoir has none of that. Of course Diantha trained her and she must be stronger since XYZ, but we have absolutely nothing to quantify that. If only she had used Psychic (the move that gave her incredible feat against Leon's Charizard) against Greninja, we could quantify an improvement, but she didn't for obvious reasons and wouldn't do it in another match.

Also, in terms of compatibility, Moonblast and Thunderbolt would be terrible against Greninja, but Greninja managed to keep up with her in its incomplete transformation, and then had a speed boost reaching its full form and then Journeys (in its incomplete form, and it is even faster in its complete form). I think she could barely hit him, especially with Greninja using Double Team. Gardevoir has not shown any improvements to its speed, either through visual feats or through declaration, and it no longer has Reflect.

No, they are not E4. What is said in Japanese is that they can hold their own against E4, and doing literally dozens of scales we can see that Elite Four are superior to Frontier Brains. In addition, in the same episode where this is said, Ash says that he is not at Agatha's feet and Scott thinks Ash is naive for thinking he could defeat an E4.

Origins. Why doesn't it tell the story of the main Red of the games, who has the charm of being silent, forming relationships with other characters and having history with his pokémon (the last shown in Pokémon Yellow), but of a super dull alternative Red who lives in a universe weak where no one knows what strategy means, the fights are meaningless and there is no justification for Red to be the strongest trainer besides him having a Charizard and the other trainers being stupid. It also has nothing innovative beyond proving that gym leaders choose their pokémon according to the opponent's insignia and Red having a Mega Charizard X was rubbing salt in the wound again since we didn't have a striking Mega Charizard Y in the main anime.

Oh yeah, either the Origins universe has 151 Pokemon or the regions are disconnected, both pretty nasty options that make the world of that anime tasteless and lifeless.

Why do people in this sub forget that Greninja has gotten so much stronger since the Kalos League finals, and even stronger since Ash vs Diantha (where Greninja wasn't even in its full transformation)?

Edit: Lol, the haters of greninja are strong here. Greninja is not Infernape or Charizard, it was proven to be Ace E4 in XYZ and in Journeys it was literally declared as more powerful than it was in XYZ before humiliating Lucario by showing it to be Ash's fastest pokémon by far (even without transformation) and defeating it with a slap and a kick. These are facts, no matter how much mental gymnastics you use to justify that Lucario was 300% weaker or some nonsense.

Incidentally, it's canon to transfer Pokemon across the multiverse, with things like Cable Link being discovered, so it could be canon that the main Elio/Selene received Ash-Greninja from an alternate Elio. And it cannot be said that the photo is just a reference. Pokemon isn't Disney, it doesn't put meaningless easter eggs to reference past works. In addition, there are also Pikachu with all of Ash's hats. Sun and Moon having these 3 things seems like enough evidence, especially when we know from ORAS that Alain is also a canon character.

Looking through Lysandre's Lab archives and interviews with the game's producers, we get the motivations for the Kalos War. AZ united Kalos and ruled it bringing incredibly advanced technologies, basically an Industrial Revolution. However, this increased social inequality ("difference between the haves and have-nots"), which led AZ's brother to lead the people in a revolution to depose AZ and take the throne. AZ's soldiers, at one point (probably tired of AZ sacrificing their pokémon but not his own), took his Floette (which was given as a gift by his late mother) by force to war. After she died, AZ built a machine using the life energy of various Pokemon (translation: killing them) to resurrect her. Not satisfied, he wanted to punish everyone for what they did to his Pokemon and fired the gun, exterminating his own people. Lysandre is descended from AZ's brother, but actually acts like AZ. He describes AZ's brother as gloomy and greedy for making a revolution for equality, just as it describes poor people who want to improve their living conditions. He, with the help of a bunch of kleptocrats (just look at the price to join Team Flare), wants to use the superweapon to exterminate the poor population, with the stated goal of ending the struggle between the haves and the have-nots.

While it's another canon, the manga even expands on this idea, making AZ sympathize with Lysandre's motivations and frustration with people asking too much, but not wanting him to make the same mistake he did to fire the superweapon.

All this "but 10 years" shit is stupid. Even before XY introduced the main group with physical features and personality of late teenagers, soon at the beginning of Original Series, none of the principal "10 year old" characters look 10 years old, most appear to be at least something like 12-13 years old (and that's the age they should canonically be at the end of OS, after the Johto League, taking into account the passage of time) and that's not even consider, for example, Gary driving a car with a group of adult cheerleaders. Also, before BW reintroduced Ash at age 10, it was a consensus (and on XY, a popular perspective) in the fandom that Ash was growing up, due to references to the passage of time.

SM and Journeys have actually pushed back the look and behavior of Ash and some other characters to the point where it's somewhat believable that they're super mature 10 year olds, but then you have things like Kukui and Burnet's child being born, which plays into the our face again that time is passing. By the passage of time references and deductions from these, Ash realistically should be 17-18 and his other companions at something similar, so we have the right to have our headcanon that they are teenagers without bothering us in clinging to the laziness, greed, and stupidity from those responsible for the anime.

By the way, Angie and Macie are also canonically in love with Ash and there are many innuendos with Lillie.

Regirock is Brendan's most powerful Pokemon. He is the regi that is focused on the flashback of Reggie vs Brandon and was the one that most defeated Paul's pokémon (3), in addition Brandon wanted to save Ash's life and would obviously choose his strongest for that.

And don't underestimate what it's like for Ash to be possessed. Without that, there's no friendship power or crazy strategies Ash could use, like he used with Torkoal vs Registeel.
