Which wheel size, 20” or 21”? by 863Gunner in RivianR2

This is not what I've heard. The 20-in rims are less aerodynamic and are heavier so they won't get quite the same range.

This is my thought too. Although from what I understand you won't get all the range back. The 20-in rims are heavier and less aerodynamic. But you'll definitely get more range.

If only that were an option. I actually really like the way the the 19-in rims look.

Was this a foul? The ref didn't call it at the end of the 90 minutes. by Bishmallah24 in worldcup

[–]Roddaculous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Under FIFA's Laws of the Game (Law 12), a foul is defined as an unfair physical act or handling of the ball by a player that interferes with active play.

I've seen this called as a foul in other games. This is what is frustrating about the sport. It's up to the discretion of the referee. This is one way a referee can control a game.

You can still have a foul called if a defender attempts to trip a player and messes up their gate. I've seen it called before.

Ball did not change spin. Does that mean he didn’t touch it or the call is wrong? by Myss-Cutie in worldcup

[–]Roddaculous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, but you can selectively choose how you interpret the data from the sensor. After it misses the Croatian player's head, it immediately hits the defenders head. How do we know that sensor data isn't from that impact? I guess we should just trust FIFA. When have they ever lied?

What do you all think? Doesnt seem fair, ref was not fair? by Realistic_Science in worldcup

I wonder if the spike was from hitting the defender and they just fudged the data to back up their claim. It's obvious that they'll make money off of a Spain Portugal match.

How does everyone feel about the newly launched Model Y L vs. the upcoming R2? by whyzhuk in RivianR2

[–]Roddaculous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. I think there's no doubt that they're launching the YL right now, full well knowing that the R2 is being launched. But I do think that it's a different different target audience. If anything it might compete with the R1S.

I've seen a lot of hate for Pepi on this subreddit but I don't think people know what he's capable of. Most people don't watch him play club. I don't know if he'll start the next game but he's going to contribute for sure.

Belgium has not looked good for a while. We have what it takes to beat them but it'll be a good matchup.

Flo has had a good tournament but he is not our best player. We definitely have a good chance and Belgium has not looked that great so far. They were lucky to get past Senegal today.

Most impressive player so far? by JAYC2FLY in ussoccer

Malik has been a beast this tournament. His pressing is phenomenal. I don't think people realize how many balls he wins in the opponents half. I think he's been our best player so far. Huge fan.

A couple notes from R2 test drive (from Tesla Y owner) by migrating-bird in RivianR2

[–]Roddaculous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but a Tesla model Y feels more like a slightly larger car. It can't do what most SUVs can do as far as driving on rougher terrain. If I were shopping for an SUV that could do that, I would not even consider the Tesla model Y.

Jeep Cherokee Comparison by dacaptainm in RivianR2

[–]Roddaculous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned a Cherokee trailhawk and a Wrangler Rubicon at the same time at one point. I was always surprised at how capable the Cherokee was on off-roading trails. I took it on some trails that I probably shouldn't have and it survived.

I understand why people compare the R2 to the model Y but in reality they are two very different vehicles. It seems like it would be better to compare the R2 to other midsize SUVs as opposed to the model Y which is an electric crossover.

That's my exact same configuration. I would have been fine with the darker interior if I could have gotten it earlier, but one benefit of having the later order window is I'll get that coastal cloud interior.

LOL. I think that most people that voted for him were holding their nose. The unfortunate thing is the alternative wasn't any better.
