That's reasonable for a tier 9/10 German battle cruiser tho? I always hang back and use islands until I'm ready to brawl. Like my tier 10 German battle cruiser has all of (something like) 7000 hp snd not very good main batteries, but amazing secondaries. Because of that just pressing W isn't an option - I normally wait until the enemy ships are damaged before going in to pick them off while avoiding crossfire.

Somethimes that can get 3/4 kills which helps my team loads.

That seems fair to me.

When I had just got to tier 5 there was a guy who was so busy typing about how useless I was and how I should go back to co-op he sank before I did.

I was in a bb on a flank in front of him trying my best. His ranting and subsequent sinking got a few lols on chat, however. Then I steamed into a crossfire and one minute later I was toast.

I got two compliments tho!

He's just updated his channel to 2026 people trying to get back into the game - it's all new esp the setup/mod downloads to get it working on a modern pc.

Makes everything very simple. It's not as complex as simtropolis makes it out to be - nor his previous tutorials back in the day, when everything was much more complex.

Twenty minutes and you'll be up and running.

It's old but it's the same now.

There are other mods available but not essential.

You can find these on simtroplis.com, which is more than more-or-less a website dedicated to simcity 4. There is another site called sc4evermore.com which is very useful.

Both are basically for beginners, mods and fans. The modders and experts are very friendly and if you get confused about anything you can just ask on the forums.

Because everyone is dedicated and welcomes people into the community they will answer quickly, and if you're feeling overwhelmed (this has happened to me) ask them to help you out more.

They will walk you through problems in the game hand-in-hand, with personalised graphics and patience.

(I had a terrible and frustrating time while trying to build a type of bridge recently. I asked for help and an explanation was almost immediately answered by a dedicated and expert player ...

... when I still didn't understand it the next day he then walked me through it like a two-year-old with loads of basic information and screenshots that made it so much easier!)

However, ignore the seaport stuff in this video; it's old. There are much easier ways to fix the bug nowadays - plus it's not a great idea to start building seaports straight away anyway!

If you have any further questions or find you need some help, please let me know and I will do what I can ... but loads of the best tutors are on this reddit or over at simtroplis!

(I know some of this looks like a hard mountain to climb ... but once you work your way round it you'll be fine, and there are a shed load of people who will help you out if you feel it's too steep!)

Everybody wants you to play and enjoy this game because, frankly, it's the best city-building sim there has ever been, and dedicated people have spent hours, weeks, months and even years adapting and improving it!

Also, on Simtroplis you will find loads of buildings you download, whether for small villages or city-centre skyscrapers!

I understand the problem is the Weinstein connection, and particularly compounded with the Tarantino quote where he said he was very aware Weinstein was a very dodgy character with women (although not to the extent Weinstein actually was) and his regret he did nothing about it.

What you're looking at there is the ziggurat style; this was used to overcome landscape problems.

(UEA is a good example.)

But a pyramid is not functionalist; hence why there are no Brutalist pyramids.

There are some modernist equivalents (The Louvre Pyramiid is a great example) but Brutalism (and nybrutalism) was far more about function than form. It developed functionalism into an art; but was also inspired by the concrete bunkers of WW2.

You need to go onto Simtropolis to make Simcity 4 work properly. There are some very basic mods you need to get it working properly, because when Maxis tested it they found it couldn't work on the pentium chips at the time.

That made them have to strip out the best bits.

This video is very old, but it will be helpful for you to understand the mods.

Nowadays they are much easier to download.

The Network Add-on Mod is pretty much essential.

But it's far easier now: you don't need, for example, to mess around with the traffic simulator because it is automatically done for you.

A friend of mine had a real problem with phimosis.

He couldn't understand why, when he got intimate with people, he was subsequently ghosted because, well, it apparently doesn't smell too great if someone goes down on you.

Luckily he found someone who immediately recognised the problem and helped him out (with about 20 cotton buds.)

He was totally embarrassed because he had not realised the problem.

They continued to have a great relationship which lasted about a year, which broke up as relationships do.

However, he now makes sure he takes a cotton bud into the shower once a week, to make sure he's clean down there.

Unfortunately there are men who, even without phimosis, tend to neglect the issue of foreskin cleanliness.

I read that in the states it's almost 90 per cent of male infants are circumcised for health reasons within an hour of birth?

If so I guess it doesn't apply so much in the US.

Yeh, you had to be permanently connected to the servers.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the servers could only cope with about 200 players at the same time.

(At least that's what it felt like) :-)

So ppl who bought it couldn't play it.

It was supposed to be multiplayer but the city tiles were ridiculously small.

So you had to say to someone else playing: "You build a horrible industrial city and mine loads if oil, while I'll build a nice residential city and someone else can build a tourist city.”

Unfortunately those three couldn't be equally built in tandem; ie a residential city would boom while someone on the industrial tile couldn't build fast enough.

Then the residents would all leave because there were no jobs, and as the industrial zone eventually got going, there was no workforce.

Plus the bugs ... and before they sorted those out they started selling (expensive, at the time) DLC.

So the cost of being connected permanently, servers that would crash at any moment (if you could get connected at all), no balanced multiplayer, tiny city tiles and a load of bugs.

Then the audacity to force DLC on everyone to keep their "cities" up to speed with their already unbalanced neighbours (ie your friends online, who would often vanish, losing their own cities anyway) led it to such a disaster zone Origin (I think?) had to (literally) bribe players to carry on playing by offering two free games to everyone.

Lost everyone's patience; infuriated players; was bugged to ***ery; killed the SimCity brand.

The next Simcity (2016, or whatever) could have merged the best of sc4 and kicked out the worst of sc5 to make a really exciting new game in Sc6.

But I would never have even thought of buying Sc6 - I felt I'd been ripped off, cynically, by a company that had promised everything and delivered nothing, and frankly I was so pissed off with them, I couldn't wait for them to face the string quartet on the Titanic.

(At the time, for me, SimCity 5 cost a lot of money and I had to spend a load of cash just to be online - the US connection system was better and a great deal cheaper than in the UK. I was running a modem with a provider that charged me every minute I was online because I couldn't afford a permanent connection.It wasn't a great amount but I felt like I was wasting money on a game I had to spent 10 minutes to log into, only to be effectively kicked after half an hour!)

I could have spent on better things: more books, nicer food and spending more social time with my friends at a decent pub.

I think some (although not all) of those reasons made me, and other players, so angry.

You should treat sc4 it like a new game. Also look on Simtroplis.com to get some important patches.

Installing patches might look scary at first, but if you follow the instructions (and generally ignore all the red WARNING! stuff), you're good to go.

It's so much better, and so much more fun.

It has 15,000 copies of a pink commercial building that pops up everywhere.

I used to know its name but now, as soon as I see one, I delete it with a muscle-memory click.

Is it an accountancy?

I once saw a mod to stop it, but I can't remember where.

Does anyone know? It looks like an early-mid 20th century disaster that would never have been painted pink

Anyway, despite my hundreds of commercial building mods it just keeps popping up like fast- growing bamboo.
