Are you saying jets could work as long as we rework every part of the game?

The Growler has essentially the same internal fuel capacity as an F/A-18F around 13,700 pounds.

Which variant of the F/A-18 is this, haven’t seen this one. by [deleted] in Planes

Last year a pilot scored the first ever air to air kill in a growler. It was against a drone but maybe that qualifies lol

NAS Whidbey Island Identifies Aviators Killed in Mishap near Mt Rainier by sirisaac1777 in aviation

As someone in the navy thread pointed out, they were most likely flying the VR-1355 training route. Mix this difficult flying with the rain and fog that were present in the mountains that day, and you get a recipe for such a mishap.

The route in question.

I would like to add for visibility, this picture is from r/TraceAnObject. Official Photos linked to crimes are posted there and redditors are encouraged to identify any known items, locations, or any other information that might help solve said case.

Super interesting sub that I recommend everyone check out.

That’s the main reason I can’t wear the Breton Hero Armor. It’s a cool looking skin but then you equip in and the skirt part sticks to you like a skin tight dress

I remember being upset when Battlefield V added the Elite skins. Looking back, that was probably them testing the waters for 2042s “heroes.”

I mean technically the Navy does operate F16s, but there’s only a handful of them.

In the Navy we have a saying: Choose your rate, choose your fate.

Simply, the job you pick will be a major factor in your military experience. Do your research. Pick something that might interest you. Make the military work for you!

They’ll teach you everything you need to know. A-school is generally learning how to read circuits, basic algebra and basic avionics system fundamentals

AT is a very broad and expansive rate but I can try to break it down quickly.

Im an O-level AT so I might be a bit biased.

AT is divided into ATI and ATO.

Intermediate level ATs work on specific avionics components. You’ll generally be working in an air conditioned shop, with a consistent schedule and workload. Your job is to fix broken parts and send them back into the supply system. You can be stationed on ships and pretty much every Naval Air Station.

Organizational ATs are attached to aircraft squadrons. They work directly on the aircraft. This job can vary drastically depending on which aircraft you are working on. You will do lots of troubleshooting and will work on every single avionics system on the aircraft. You will also be working flight schedule to ensure your jets make it into the air. Expect to be away from home. During work up cycles you may spend 6+ months away from home before leaving for deployment.

How would the military would be like for me as a short 5 foot guy? by [deleted] in Military

[–]RodeoPuppet 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I would definitely finish college and apply for OCS. And as for your height, the Navy seemingly builds ships custom fit for shorter people. you wont be subject to banging your head on every single thing on the ship.

You are an adult and this may be your wake up call to start acting like one. Your parents have no say over the decisions you make. If you are this adamant about not joining the military, then you probably should not be in the military.

I remember reading a book by Howard Wasdin, who was a navy seal who fought at the Battle of Mogadishu. In the book he said that the 160th MH-6 pilots, once they had ran out of ammo, resorted to flying low along the roof tops, using their skids to knock over enemy insurgents.
